Again, it's like if they enter treatment, it's okay.
Are they sure he just didn't get wasted one night?

The tipping point I've heard from more than one person is when he was hammered at the funeral for Don James and tried to start a Go Huskies chant.

Wow

Found these on an ND board:

quote:

I attended UW for undergrad before heading to ND for graduate school. I could litter this board with stories of Sark's shenanigans. A few that immediately come to mind, and understand these are well known within UW circles:

-- At an Army All American H.S. game, Sark and his assistants (Wilcox, Sirmon, and of course wingman Nansen) rented a party bus, showed up extremely inebriated, and then proceeded to get kicked out.

-- The week of the Oregon game in 2011, Sark and Nansen took about six sorority co-eds out on Lake Washington until the wee hours of the night, got absolutely hammered. Scott Woodward (AD) was seen berating him the following morning about it. Two days later, UW played hated rival UO and honored the 1991 national championship team at halftime. Like every time Sark played Oregon, he got blown out and cried in the locker room afterwards.

-- He was a regular at a bar/restaurant called Joey's, where he was famously known as "Tequila Steve" with Nansen being "Johnny Patron." Sark was involved/dating at least one of their waitresses. He was married this entire time.

-- Sark also got drunk at the great Don James' funeral. He tried to start a 'Go Huskies' chant at the memorial, offending everyone in attendance. This is when I think the old/big money finally had it with him.

Boosters gathered like sharks to buy out his contract after his 3 game losing streak in 2013 (he had a 3 game blowout losing streak all 5 of his years there), but Pat Haden stepped in and saved the day.

I will give Sark credit though, he is an *incredible* salesman who has gotten so, so much out of accomplishing nothing besides Not Being Tyrone Willingham.

What's up with thie statement USC released saying there will be no more alcohol allowed in the locker room? That was the norm before? WTF?

They banned alcohol from the locker room. Suffice it to say he isn't occasionally drinking.

Treatment or no treatment, his leash is pretty short right now. If he doesn't win soon and win big (at least 10 games this season) he's done.

I don't think Sark or Pat Haden will be back next season. I would cut ties with Sark now.

Pat Haden should be held accountable for hiring a drunken Sarkisian off of Washington's hands simply because he rode Pete Carroll's coat tails. He also hired Andy Enfield after one miracle run at FGCU, and SC's basketball program is an embarrassment with 5 conference wins in 2 years. Haden is a terrible AD.

I agree. Big step down from Mike Garrett to Pat Haden.

Sark was an underwhelming hire at best and I can imagine many monied alums were never impressed with him. And, then the guy gets hammered at an alumni event. I really think he just wrote his own ticket out of USC.

At first I thought this was funny when I read the OP. Then the more stories I read, the more it just seems really sad. For his sake I hope he gets his shite together.

Garrett is now the AD at a NAIA school in Oklahoma. Sark and Haden are on similar trajectories.

Garrett left Langston to pursue other opportunities. He was at the same event where Sark acted an arse. Mike Garrett received a standing ovation at the Salute to Troy.
