Exactly what I was thinking. Isn't he one of the best, statistically, when blitzed? Also nearly the least sacked this year at the least, especially before the game.

Apparently we are all fools for thinking Brees can be compared to Peyton. Silly us for not realizing that Peyton throws for 5 TDs and 400 yards every game and never ever had a bad half or game.

Brady isn't even close to being in the running for MVP at this point. He's not playing nearly as well as Manning or Brees.

Nah, Brady is below fricking Matt Schaub and Kyle Orton in QB rating. There's no way in hell he's winning the MVP this season. He's not even in the running at this point, and he shouldn't be either.

Just throw QB rating out the window and look at the stats. Also, look at the teams they have played. The Pats have played a tougher schedule then the Saints or the Colts have. My point is that trying to agree on who the best QB in the league is will never happen. Those 3 QBs are in a class by themselves.

I've read this entire thread, and understand the points for both sides, and I am still going to say that Brees should definitely be considered at least as good as Peyton Manning. Though it seems like everyone except Kafka (who has a thread that is not completely pointless about Reggie Bush on ST right now) is pretty biased to one side.

This thread is full of retards. Brees just came off a 58.9 QB rating game and you saintards dare to say he's better than Manning?

Yet Brees had better stats than Manning ALL of last season?

I guess you missed the part about best QB this season. Im not gonna mention all the things that Peyton Manning had last season, but do you really wanna turn this into a career comparison?

I have no clue why people are arguing the obvious, Manning is better in almost every meaningful statistical category.

Brees has faced the 30th and 18th ranked passing defenses, but the other 4 were all in the top 10. Manning has faces a much easier schedule and I'd be brees finishes with a better an rating at the end of the season.

I'll gladly take the 2nd to best qb and a top 5 running game over the number 1 qb and the 27th best rushing team....thanks

What's so funny about it? He's not far behind now and has faced a tougher schedule. He has just two good defenses left all season, maybe three depending on how good Carolina is relative to their #1 pass defense ranking.

Convenient.

What about what Brees had? Injuries to his receivers? An inconsistent running game?

Look at the ball distribution last year and THIS year between his receivers. A quaterback can't distribute the ball that well unless he is really really good.

It's acceptable to compare the last full season of football when comparing two QBs in the present.

Because it's NOT obvious. Brees has played against much better defenses than Manning so far this season and their stats are not that much different.
