Yea, I mostly post on the Rant. You're all just LSU fans. (not knocking it, you all seem knowledgeable) I was hoping there would be some aggies floating around.

Are you trying to stick up for Jameis Winston? That's pretty funny.

TExans fan here. I was really hoping Mallett would win the job this season. We all know what Hoyer can do over a full season and it's not anything great, we still don't know what Mallett can really do though. For that reason alone I wanted him to start.

From what I've heard reported from camp is that Mallett has been struggling with the short routes in comparison to Hoyer. I think the Texans are wanting to run sort of a dink and dunk type offense so that's why Hoyer won the job.

I heard the same thing about him not being able to make short throws. The funny thing is I read the same thing about Hoyer. He just doesn't turn the ball over. I guess that's an issue with Mallett. I haven't watched a second of Preseason football this year so I haven't seen what either has looked like. Mallett's gotta get his feet wet. If you guys are gonna stick Hoyer in and maybe make it to the first round you might as well sink or swim with Mallett and let the kid get his feet wet. If he can't win 10 games put the new kid in next year. Since you're a fan of the team maybe you can talk to the coach for me...

Hoyer is 10-6 as a starter for Cleveland. If the two are otherwise even, this might be what pushed him over.

Honestly so far in preseason neither QB has really stood out to me. Their stats are pretty comparable. I guess Hoyer has kind of commanded the offense a little better, but that is to be expected given he actually has more game experience.

I wish Mallett was starting still, he seems to have more upside and big play potential to me.

As far as running back goes, yeah Foster is out until optimistically like week 4 or 5 I think. He tore his groin muscle and it is going to require surgery. So far Blue is slightly leading the RBs, but really no one has separated themselves from the pack. I think it will be a running back by committee approach until Foster comes back (crossing fingers hoping he comes back)

10-6 at Cleveland? hmm.. I think his passer rating is like 76, though. Mallett's is like 73 with something like 30 career passes. Something like that.

So with a larger sample size Hoyer has proven he can have a winning record in a terrible organization. And have a slightly better rating.

And he got beat out in camp. Doesn't look good for Arkansas QB at this point. Good news is Hoyer will probably blow it later, giving Mallett another chance.
