Sorry I got a problem with comparing Westbrook to Kobe and Jordan.

Those 2 guys have how many rings? they are the greatest competitors the NBA has seen.

Westbrook couldn't even get his team to the playoffs the year durant was hurt. pump the breaks on the Jordan Kobe comparisons.

It's certainly very noble.

History won't remember Westbrook's nobility, but they will remember the title(s) Durant will likely win.

The ultimate goal is to win a title. That's it, end of statement. There is no caveat that says the goal is to win a title with the team that drafted you, it's just to win.

i disagree

esp if Durant's teams win like 3-4 and the Bestbrook keeps OKC in the playoff hunt and has some amazing performances

people will end up shitting on Durant and giving Russ a ton of props. the better Durant's team does, the more respect Russ will get, i'd imagine

and how many times have we all made the "team stat" argument re: titles?

a lot of you guys have turned your back on that (and it's ironic given the actual reality of this situation)

A durant with an MVP already, and multiple rings, will be looked at as an all timer.

Westbrook will be a footnote, a mere caveat in the future.

Its a shame Shaq left for LA, if he would have stayed in Orlando he would maybe be popular and considered one of the greatest.........

Oh wait

He never said that is the way it should be, but it is simply the way it is.

Same guy, this is the argument he uses to justify why it was OK for Lebron to join the super friends team when had he stayed in CLE and won titles there without teaming up with 2 top 10 players he would probably already be GOAT.

It's confusing because shel is the undisputed king of ignoring actual results/success and evaluating everyone by VORP/WAR/QBR/whatever. Because "team game."

his legacy is going to take a major hit because of his decision. it is what it is

he was already gaining a reputation of hiding from the spotlight and then he does the ultimate "hide" move? that's his legacy

Shaq wanted to stay in Orlando and only left because they lowballed the shite out of him. Probably one of the worst negotiations in sports' history.

Totally different.

No one seems to remember or harp on how Magic was a coach killer early in his career. History only speaks of Magic and those great stacked Laker teams and the championships. If Durant wins titles, he will be held in a high regard because we only remember the champs.
