Calling him unathletic seems like exaggeration and calling him white seems irrelevant

I hated the trade , wiggins had been a for gone lock to be number one pick for 3 years. The cavs gm traded him for an un athletic white stat stuffer on a bad team, woat trades
wiggins isn't exactly lighting the world on fire
instead of an "unathletic white stat stuffer on a bad team", you get an "athletic black single stat stuffer on a bad team"

The cabs need a consistent 3 and d type of guy to get over the hump against the Warriors. Avery Bradley is the guy I think could put them over the top but no way the Celtics trade him, his contract is a bargain

All these hindsight posters dissing the K.Love trade as if they knew the Warriors would be at GOAT level. Cavaliers would probably have a championship right now if not for the Warriors. The Cavs are the 3rd best team in the NBA and could beat the Spurs in a series. Some of you act like the Cavs are average.
As far as the trade goes, it would be a major upgrade as Melo is more aggressive on defense and on the boards. Not to mention he actually spreads the floor and isn't afraid to go to the paint. It would be a legit championship matchup with Warriors v Cavs. If the Warriors weren't at GOAT level, these trade talks wouldn't be happening.

It's not like he's doing poorly, and he's 20.

He doesn't even need to be an alpha dog because of how good towns is gonna be. I think that kid is gonna be Duncan good in his prime

Cavs wouldn't add anything of value with the addition of Wiggins and subtraction of Love.

You can bump the threads if you want. There were a small (but vocal) contingent that hated the Love trade. I was one of them.
Of course I did think that Wiggins would be a little better than he is right now, but I saw Love for what we see he is right now. Lebron just had a hard on for Love's box scores. I never thought a title was a foregone conclusion for them. I still don't know that they can beat a full strength Spurs in a series.

Honestly I give okc the best shot to beat the Warriors just because I think Durant and Westbrook can completely dominate that seriesnon a way I don't think Lebron and Kyrie can

he's not doing that well
his PER is only 16.39 and that's inflated due to being given the green light on a bad team. 15 is average, iirc
he wouldn't be approaching his mediocre level of play on a good team, so that has to be taken into account
the problem with wiggins appears to be some structural issues that he can theoretically work on (outside shooting, ballhandling, etc) as well as some Bball IQ stuff.
he's only 20 and in year 2, but he needs to make a HUGE jump next year or he'll probably just be your classic "next" guy who develops bad habits to go with structural issues that makes him more of a niche guy than a star. projecting him to superstar levels now is low % i'd imagine

It was not a bad trade. Who else (forward) could they have honestly went after? Love was an all star player in a shite market with zero help, he was the most likely to move to another shite market where LBJ was. The Cavs needed another forward.

If we asses the Spurs as the status quo and the Warriors as outliers and leave them out the equation, these trade discussions are not happening, agree or disagree?

that and style. he had just played a very successful run with a stretch 4 in bosh and realized that kind of guy works with him
we're just finding out that bosh >>> love
but bosh is pretty much >>>> the field in that regard so that's not shocking
*ETA: bosh was seen as a "box score" guy in toronto and criticized early in miami, too. that's common. hell even pau gasol had that rep before he went to the lakers

Lots of folks claiming victory on not liking the Love trade.
It's strange as the jury is still out, and Cleveland had a solid shot at a title last season, barring injuries.
They needed a good who was good immediately, Wiggins was not that, and would have taken even longer to become that in Cleveland.
The trade hasn't been lost at all as of yet.

If you want to call him Demar Derozen, just do it

All this to get destroyed in the FINALS again.
Superteam move number THREE for Lebron.

i just don't get this mythology about the "replacement value wiggins" on Cleveland. he'd be legit competing for minutes with JR smith
JR fricking smith!

In hindsight Bosh was extremely important to Miami's success, more so than Baby Bron.
