bad ratings? they're on network TV...I don't know what the numbers are, but I can promise you they are staggeringly better than last seasons.

The ratings will dictate what they get next year when it's up for bid again. Without seeing the ratings it's impossible to know if CBS overpaid. I sincerely doubt they did.

Yeah, but I would guess (and I don't have the evidence to back this up) that in terms of overall viewership share that TNF game got a higher rating than it would on a Sunday, where it would be viewed by people in ATL and TB. When it's on Thursday night, they'll get some people out of those markets to tune in just because it's the only thing on.

I understand, but I don't really know what you're driving at. There will be stinkers every now and then. Nothing the NFL can do about.

it's not just that...it's the move to the networks

your description would be more apt if it were given one year ago...right now, they've sold the rights, and a network has them...shite that gets canceled after a few episodes on the networks would be a hit on cable.

At the presser, he's going to admit:

1) He's an a-hole
2) He's an idiot
3) He watched the Ray Rice elevator video in April and lied about having it and not seeing it
4) He thinks smoking marijuana is worse than domestic violence
5) The Saints were innocent of Bountygate, he justs hates us (as we all suspected) and didnt want us to win the Super Bowl in the Superdome that year

I'm sure you're joking but in case you're not he's all about passing the buck he'll say he was right all along

He's an a-hole

his problem is he cares too much about what people think about him and the NFL. Problem is, his priorities there are fricked up. He has tuned out the fans in favor of the media and the weasels who are best described as "agents of social change"

quote:

He's an idiot

I don't know, but he is a textbook corporate guy. hand motions, presentation, and no substance. He is bafflingly terrible at PR, yet he ran public relations for the NFL for 2 decades

quote:

He watched the Ray Rice elevator video in April and lied about having it and not seeing it

all of this

quote:

He thinks smoking marijuana is worse than domestic violence

he thinks WE think that, and he just realized how fricking wrong he is.

quote:

He thinks WE THINK smoking marijuana is worse than violence

I'd love to say he's wrong, but unfortunately I don't think he is.

quote:

The Saints were innocent of Bountygate

oh yeah.

I will say this, he is clearly an unethical sleeze bag. To make the league look good, he organized PR smear campaigns against people and organizations and lying is just such a natural instinct for him, despite how awful he is at doing so.

My university has made a domestic violence class mandatory for all students. Of course I live and work 3 hours away from their shithole campus.

Thanks Rog.

Preliminary ratings are down 40 percent from last week, with CBS and the NFL Net averaging a 3.3 rating among adults 18-49 in fast national returns. Last week's game, which averaged an early 5.5 rating, went up to a 7.5 in the key demo once time zone adjustments were made.
Interest in the matchup was clearly already low, as pre-game coverage was also down 34 percent from comparable preliminary numbers last week.

I don't think he is stepping down today. I also don't think he'll make it through the season however. He has been terrible for the league and I'm sure he'll make a fool of himself at the press conference today.

Thats the number. Not the shite game, but the fact even pregame, before the game was shite....was still only 2/3ds of the previous week.

If ratings are low this weekend they will have to move his arse out.

I'm starting to hope he's gone, just so FoxMulder can go back to being a regular poster.
