While they still will be favored, losing this guy is NEVER a good thing.

I hate Guinness, but I will begin drinking it voluntarily if Ireland pull this one out. France is #1 on my shitlist for international football. #2 is Argentina, but only because of that cokehead Maradona.

I had tendinitis in both knees flare up when I was like 15, I took two weeks off then played the rest of the select season then the entire high school season. Ribery is a pussy.

also you missed a key word there hoss, LIKELY, nothing is set in stone as of yet. if ireland gets a result at home in the first leg then no doubt you see ribs on the pitch for the return match.

Ribery is such a fun player to watch. Domenech is gone if they screw this up.

Don't look for anything pretty, though. Trappatoni-the Irish manager-doesn't have the players to play "pretty football" and I don't think he's going to lose trying. It's his job to take the talent he has and win ugly rather than losing pretty.

Thierry Henry will definitely play for two minutes, score one or multiple goals and then be invisible for the rest of the game.

95% of the strikers in the world are like this.

So, France might not make the World Cup? How big of a deal if this?

Pretty big. Esp. if they lose to Ireland. France are #9. Ireland? #34. FWIW, USA is #11,

Very big deal. France have made the last three (last missing out on USA 1994), and won in 1998.

We would be able to discuss it in more depth in May (or so?) with a World Cup board, O Mighty One.
