I haven't been able to find the article...but I read a review of the trade that took the best player who was selected within 5 spots of each traded pick.
When everything was added up the trade was at the least even, and favorable to the Saints based on the value of a franchise back at the time.

I don't think he has bad character. He's egotistical but so is Aaron Rodgers and a lot of other NFL QBs.
Thing is Aaron Rodgers had a point in his career where he was humbled and had to take a back seat to someone. He got his chance the way it used to be recommended, sit behind the starter for a couple of years while he learns the offense.
RGIII got thrust into the role on a bad team. That's really not a recipe for success but it's even worse if the guy isn't mature. If Aaron Rodgers got put onto a bad team as a rookie he would've had a rough time too.

I have to admit, it is kind of sad to see a guy like RGIII go from the peaks of athletic celebrity to the depths of being a NFL bust.
