I watched that game at 3 different houses.

When Chris Burke hit that shot I exploded. It feels like it's been so long since we had a real winner to root for in this city.

The often forgotten part about the 18 inning game is that with 2 outs in the the bottom of the 9th, Brad Freaking Ausmus hits his 2nd homer of the YEAR to tie it up.

Was also unfortunately there when Pujols hit the homer in the NLCS that's still traveling off Lidge. It was so quiet you could hear his footsteps rounding the bases.

Aug 23, 1980, sat through a 17 inning 1-0 win by the Astros against the Cubs. Joe Niekro got the game winning rbi in the bottom of the 17th as well as the win.

saw so many games there. Had my first beer there. I was 2! dad said the coke guy wouldn't come up where we were i kept bugging him about being thirsty. Took a few sips of his and I was done !

Saw the 86 series against mets

Remeber Jose Cruz, Terry Puhl, and good ole Dickie Thon before being hit by pitch!

Got to see Nolan Ryan pitch in person at least 7 or 8 times!

Saw Hank Aaron, Lou Brock and others in the Dome. Didn't have a TV as a kid but had a small radio and listened to every Astros game. Got to attend about one a year. Ceasar Cedeno, Jimmy Wynn, Jose Cruz, Johnny Edwards, Dierker...

Our local Dixie League program used to make a trip to the dome every summer in the 70's. Some great memories.

I used to go to the Dome straight after class for the few months where school and baseball season overlapped. Hang out in the $5 outfield seats during BP, enjoy some popcorn and coke when it wasn't $20 for a combo. Good times.

Yeah. Lol, my stomach was tied up in knots, during that at-bat. It was funny because it initially looked like he hit a double, but when they showed it in replay, you could see the ball hit just above the yellow line.

Why does that seem like such a long time ago, now?

Some of mine

-Jose Lima's 20th win in '99
-Seeing McGuire and Sosa for every game they played in Houston during the '98 season of the longball
-Randy Johnson's first home start as an Astro in '98 in front of 52,000 at the Astrodome. He has a CG 5-hitter and I almost got one of Bagwell's 2 HR's that day. It was against a Phillies team led by none other than Terry Francona.

Hatcher's Home run to tie game 6 in the 14th

Scott's no-no to clinch in 86

).

Any of Ryan's no-no's

My first game ever (must have been 83 or 84'. Saw Kevin Bass hit two home runs off Mickey Mahler and the expos.
