i think they're even with a 1-loss team with the fecal matter they play this year. A one loss lsu team (to bama or OM) sure as hell better get in over OSU

Yet they are still solidly number 1? I guess the image did not get hurt.

So if Michigan St beats tOSU will everyone turn against MSU? Or if tOSU beats MSU will everyone say see I told you that B1G was not that good?

So your saying osu would have it just as easy vs an SEC or Pac 12 schedule? You're dreaming! !

So after 3 weeks we have:

Auburn extremely overrated
Arkansas Extremely overrated
Mizzou extremely overrated

UGA/LSU/Ole Miss/A&M taking care of business but now the SEC has 5 good teams (I'm leaving Bama in here) MAYBE not 8 or 9.

The B1G has 2 really good teams who are proven to be good in OSU and MSU, and then 5-6 average teams, and some crap.

If they were in the SEC East it's very possible. Michigan State is probably better than UGA but lets call them a wash. Otherwise, that would be the only good division team they'd play and they could easily hit the shitty teams (Aub, Ark, and State) from the west.

Would never happen if OSU is unbeaten.

I don't remember that. What I remember was him questioning the academic reputation of SEC schools.....right around the same time that rocket scientist Duron Carter flunked out in his first semester.

Osu plays the little sisters of the poor almost every week. Another juggernaut this weekend!
We get it; you live in Ohio and you're not an OSU fan but an LSU fan instead.

That's great and all, but why incessantly worry about OSU's schedule when your team is very good and has one of the most exciting young players (Fournette) in football?

No it doesn't. And all it takes is a 42-7 type win against some shite team for everyone to claim OSU is hitting their stride again.

It would legit hurt my feelings if a 1 loss Ohio State got in over a 1 loss SEC team.

I do disagree that the SEC is some poor academic conference; although it is behind the ACC, B1G, and Pac-12. That being said, it's a wash when it comes to athletes for the most part as any University can tailor the major and courses to make college easy for athletes.

So we know that Carter hated school and couldn't handle it anywhere he went. So even though it's not the case with Carter, couldn't a player flunking out be considered an indication of the academic rigour?

In other words, I'm not sure what Carter's failing has to do with Gee's point.

Last time I watched Penn St play their line looked like swiss cheese. The defense lived in their backfield.

Who cares if it is an "easier" schedule? They would be just as likely to get through the SEC or Pac12 with 0-1 loss as the top teams in the SEC or Pac12.

Since LSU won the 2001 SEC CG with 3 losses. The SEC Champ has had more than 1 loss exactly ONCE. 2005 UGA, who beat a 1 loss #3 ranked LSU. 2005 is, not coincidentally the only time the SEC Champ wasn't in the top 4 at the end of the season. Someone usually gets thru with 0-1 loss and if they do this year they will make the playoff.

So? you realize the NC is settled on the field now right?

and a 1 loss SEC Champ will not be left out for the love of God. We've only had 1 year with even 3 P5 teams undefeated, the chances of there being 4 is extremely small. The only wat the SEC Champ gets left out is if there is a 2001 type LSU upset.

You know, Missouri has a much weaker schedule than Ohio State. No one here is starting a thread every few hours to bitch about it. No one here would have a problem if they went undefeated and got in over another team with a "harder" schedule. It's borderline pathetic to listen to it. If your team is good enough, they'll prove it. Everyone bitched about Ohio State last season until they shut everyone up. They'll do it again this season, or they wont. If they make it to the playoff, they'll deserve to be there. If they don't, they won't.

MY point is that Gee has the unfortunate condition of not having that filter between his brain and his vocal cords. Anti polish remarks....anti-Catholic remarks.....calling Barry Alavrez "a thug". I really don't know what the academic reputation of an entire conference's student bodies has to do with anything when it comes to athletes or athletic programs in general. But maybe if you want to point out that the academic reputation of your conference is better than another, stating that the other conference can't "read or write" isn't exactly the kind of dialogue you expect from someone who is supposed to be the leader of a respected academic institution?

This is why i don't root for a conference. I went to LSU, i want us to make the playoff, if we don't, IDGAF who does and I will root for no other SEC teams to make it for a variety of reasons, but the message board meltdown would be glorious
