Katrina and Rita may well have cost us a shot at the title in 2005.

Harbaugh is in a tier higher than dabo, dantonio and jimbo. He's closer to Meyer than he is those 3.

USC and Texas started that season 1 and 2. They utterly destroyed just about everyone in their path. The three Heisman finalists were from those two teams. No one was going to jump either of them that season.

I disagree. For all the awesome things he's done, Harbaugh doesn't come close to Meyer's resume. Heck, Dantonio and Dabo were closer to the NC just last year than Harbaugh has ever been as a coach in the college ranks, and Jimbo's already got one. (Note that for this list I'm purposefully minimizing what Harbaugh accomplished in the NFL, which was admittedly awesome.)
I will readily admit that Harbaugh has a higher ceiling than Dabo and Dantonio, though, and maybe Jimbo too. But I'd still need him to win at least one natty for UM before I entertain him being closer to Meyer than the three I lumped him with.
