It's been 10 years since that season, arguably the wackiest ever in college football history. Below is a 30-minute montage of that year's greatest moments:

That UK/LSU game was a lot of fun. Might have been the best game experience I have ever attended.

The most insane miracle of that season was Les Miles clowning his way to a national title. Probably the greatest achievement all-time.

GOAT LSU home schedule in terms of top ranked competition (Va Tech, Florida, Auburn) and epic games (including Arky, even though it was a cold, bitter experience after Thanksgiving).

I was lucky to be a student at the time. Best $90 or whatever it was I ever spent for student tickets.

It is pretty incredible.

I believe LSU was #7 in the BCS standings going into Championship Weekend. When the final standings came out on Monday or Tuesday, you guys were #2 behind Ohio State.

If not for that season I believe you would have fired Miles earlier. But that's pretty much common sense.

I remember Herbstreet saying UGA shouldn't be in the championship game because they didn't win their division. And four years later he said it didn't matter that Bama didn't win it's division. frick that guy.

Yeah, that was a great year for College Ball.

I think my peak years as a football fan College and Pro were from 2000-2010.

I think it was age thing more than anything for me.

LSU was the only team undefeated in regulation, undefeated in OT, and undefeated in double OT.

Getting our arse handed to us by UGA, ole miss and Florida then dropping that heartbreaking Bama game in 2008 would have amped up the "Saben's players" narrative.

If he wasn't fired then, he would have been left for dead in oxford have telling Jefferson to spike the ball

Before 1/9 the 07 loss to Arkansas was the most painful LSU loss of all time. (For a week)

LSU was the best team and was the one who should have won the national championship out of that whacky season.

Preseason poll Coaches Poll:

1. USC
2. LSU

It wasn't crazy until the end of the season:

AP Poll week by week.

USC, LSU
USC, LSU
USC, LSU
USC, LSU
USC, LSU
LSU, USC
LSU, Cal
Ohio State, South Florida
Ohio State, Boston College (that's right - at one point, Ohio State and Boston College were ranked #1 and #2 in the polls)
)
Ohio State, Boston College
Ohio State, LSU
LSU, Oregon
LSU, Kansas (that's right, Kansas was going to the title game)
Mizzou, West Virginia
Ohio State, LSU (okay back to normal)

Final coaches poll:

1. LSU
2. USC

(the two preseason favorites; just flip-flopped)

So in hindsight, it didn't end up crazy at all...It ended up almost exactly as predicted.

It was like much ado about nothing - all that topsy-turvy just to end up voting like they did in the preseason.
