ESPN NCAAF- Ohio St banned former QB Terrelle Pryor from any contact with school's athletic program for 5 years

quote:

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State made it official on Tuesday that former Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor could not have played at any time during the 2011 season and also banned him from any contact with the school's athletic program for the next five years.

Ending speculation that Pryor had not met the NFL's requirements for a supplemental draft, Pryor's lawyer sought and received a letter from Ohio State stating that he would not have been eligible even after his five-game suspension to start the season. Because he also failed to cooperate with the NCAA in its investigation of improper benefits given to Ohio State players -- which led to the forced resignation of coach Jim Tressel -- Pryor was told he was "completely disassociated" from the program where he starred for three seasons.

He already said he wouldn't cooperate with the NCAA. Ohio State is helping him out because he did that most likely.

I hope they don't have a supplemental draft. Teach the arrogant prick a lesson.

All of this is really not sitting well with me. Let's review:

1) A lot of the crap that the media uncovered involved Pryor it seemed like; most notably all of the car issues.
2) All of the aforementioned crap the NCAA investigated and said they found no new violations involving OSU.
3) So logically, if the NCAA says there is no new violations, there is nothing to further condemn Pryor.

So why would he be declared ineligible for all of this season and banned for 5 years if there are no new violations? NONE of the other players are getting this sort of treatment.

I really don't like TP. I think he's a douche who has had everything handed to him to his whole life and has zero respect for the university. That being said, the way he's getting thrown under the bus by OSU fans and apparently the university is equally disgusting.

At least he's eligible for that supplemental draft now

Why "ban" him for 5 years?

And he wouldn't have been ineligible for a whole year, or else there are further violations we don't know. It can't be both ways.
