West Germany's Wilfred Dietrich hits a belly-to-belly suplex on the U.S.'s Chris Taylor in the 1972 Olympics. Taylor outweighed Dietrich by over 150 lbs.

The first Alabama footbal team, 1892:

(Amazingly, even though this was their first-ever team, they'd already won five national titles)

William Bankhead (9) would go on to be elected to the US Congress and serve as Speaker Of The House in the late 1930s.

His daughter later became a famous actress.

Aston Villa, winners of the British Professional Baseball League the only year it existed, in 1890.

The "World's Biggest Drum" at Stagg Field, U of Chicago 1922.

After the football program was shut down, it was stored under the grandstand next to Enrico Fermi's lab and became radioactively contaminated.

Eventually sold to the University of Texas where it was cleaned and named Big Bertha.

Opening day of the AFL -- September 11, 1960

For some reason the Raiders are playing in San Francisco

Jim Otto wears #50, not #00

Is that Johnny Majors with Billy Cannon on the Oilers? Tom Flores on The Raiders?

One of my favorite pics... Roman Harper after Tracy Porter's pick six to secure the game...

Oh yeah and there's this...

Side note, Porter was pointing to Saints fans in the stands saying this was for them... and of course, Manning on his arse...
