This is the only way to do it; anyone crying "we got left out" or "unfair" would have no justification whatsoever.

Not really sure what I did......I was just making a simple statement. If there's some witty joke or pun in there, it was not intended.

What builds new academic centers, practice facilities, etc. that would be left out in a playoff system?

How so? This would make it like NBA, NFL, etc. They don't bitch when they miss the playoffs; they just recognize that "we didn't play well enough to make the playoffs."

I'm not being sarcastic. Teams have a right to bitch about march madness because there's no clear cut guidelines; it's left up to humans to pick the teams.

You don't think that hosting up to three additional home games and still getting a payout for making it to a big bowl game doesn't pay bills?

Really?

Seriously?

Can I hear your football playoff plan that will not be left up to the humans?

I'm not sure, but how much human influence does calculating strength of schedule have? This is not calling anyone out, just trying to see how things would work out.

Simple way: conference winners go to the playoffs. NBA does it, NFL does it, etc. They have no need for human polling, and no room for bitching because you got left out. I understand that leads to the problem with non-BCS-conference schools:

1) 8 team playoff, with BCS and non-BCS schools
6 BCS conference winners get in automatically; use strength of schedule for 1-6 rankings (if SOS has human influence, it doesnt matter at this point with these 6 teams, because they didn't get left out).

Here is the tricky part, and I would need to think about this a bit more. You could take the next two teams with the best record; if there are 2+ teams with the same record, use SOS to pick the top 2. This might have some human influence, but like I said, I don't know how much SOS is influenced by humans.

2) Ideally, force independents to join a BCS conference, and if necessary, make an additional 2 conferences. Then you can just say boom, eight conferences winners, eight team playoff.

Yes, a 19-11 team that was on the bubble and got left out of a shot for a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP has the right to bitch.

By "problem".....you mean the fact that it's a multi billion dollar enterprise that is as popular today as it's ever been. The problem that fuels advertisers to spend millions to sponser talk radio, because they know they will get the sheep to complain about it all day, every day, yet still spend shitloads supporting their team.

That problem?

Then we need to do whatever we can to not take a great sport like college football and make it like the NBA

After reading this article, I'm convinced we need a playoff more than ever, just to piss off every one of you BCS supporters even more.

LINK

The BCS is nothing more than a group of elite businessmen with nothing but $$$$$ in their eyes. They could care less who wins the national championship. But now, their proposal is that a 6-6 Baylor team should be entitled to going to a bowl over a 9-3 Nevada team, just because the Bears are in a BCS conference? Now that's sound logic.

Someone is always on the bubble but with the BCS you have a much higher chance of the best team being left out. Several undefeated teams have gotten shafted.

If you have an 8-team playoff #9 will complain but there's very little chance they have a case for being the best, or that they're undefeated.

With 12 teams there's zero chance of someone getting shafted. If you're #13 you lost a game somewhere and have nobody to blame but yourself.

Problem: teams bitching about being left out. Pay attention when you read posts; it won't make you look like an idiot trying to prove some point that nobody is arguing.

Are you just posting to post? Because your response really makes you look like you are dumb.
