For those of you around the Baton Rouge area, I would like to extend an invitation to come checkout the fun and exciting sport of rugby. We have touch-rugby on Tuesday at 6:00pm on the field next to Walk-Ons, and Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00pm at the Highland Road Park rugby field. For more information check out batonrougerugby.net

Also, there will be a 7-a-side rugby tournament at Highland Road Park on July 11, 2009. This is a fast-paced version of rugby, and promises to showcase the best high school, women, and men players in the South.

When I was there it was Trip McCormick. Now I think Kevin Kern has taken over the program.

Thanks for the invite. I need to make time and show up. I played with the LSU 7s team in the summer of 2000. Now I am old as shite. I could probably still find my way around the pitch, though, if I could catch my breath.

some of the best times of my life have been because of rugby...through the teams i played for or friendships made.

anyone who wants to get in shape, go play 7s, you have to be in the best shape of your life to play 7s

i promise you, if they take 7s seriously at all, youll be in the best shape of your life by the time the summer is over.

Touch Rugby is a good way to get in shape and learn the rules of the game. There are plenty of games that are full contact during the season.
