Ok, so I was probably a bit heavy handed in that, yea, not everyone says Lebron is #2.

You're right, but I moreso meant big picture. There's never a thread started to compare Lebron to someone else, it's basically only ever MJ. There's one off comments here and there, but the main comparison always starts and stops with MJ. There used to be some Kobe sprinkled but thankfully the MSB moved past that finally.

Oh really? So you are saying running from team to team trying to assemble dream teams in your favorite cities and going 2-5 in championships is the model to follow? I hope I never see this again. It's been dreadfully painful.
So you're on record as saying any random 16 year old that is a high school hoops prodigy should hope to NEVER ever ever ever have a career like Lebron? Hey kids, see that guy with 2 titles, 4 MVPs, 2 Finals MVPs, and not a blemish on his record off the court...whatever you do, do NOT be like that guy!!!

That's the argument you want to run with?

Like Jordan had no part in it but the media tried to do the same with James but it just didn't work out

Except for one particular individual.

no i mean he's a prodigy who basically fully lived up to the billing, which is extremely rare

also, he has been without any major incident off the court. he's been a model professional NBA player

he was one of many "next jordans" and he came the closest WITH being without scandal

And earlier you claimed that the media made MJ what he was. Like Jordan had no part in it but the media tried to do the same with James but it just didn't work out.

the media created the mythical concept of "Miachel Jordan" but didn't make the player on the court

yes LBJ was one of "the next Jordans" (media creation) and he came the closest

Agreed, maybe we should compare Lebron to Harold Minor more than Jordan. I've flip flopped many times with my opinion on Lebron. There have been times when I truly think his game is on a level never before seen. When he's handling the ball without turnovers, jump shot falling, taking it to the rim with authority, playing great D.

Other times in critical games (NBA finals), his turnovers are too high, his shot isn't falling, his body language is poor for being a leader of the team.

He is definitely the best player of the past decade. If he wants to be considered in the conversation of best ever, he needs to dig deep and bring his A game for the rest of the series (even if they lose).

He doesn't have a killer instinct about him as a pure scorer, but people need to get over that because it's not his game.

Jordan was going to lock the opposing opponent (1-3)down defensively and score on you the other end.

LeBron is going to get his team the most efficient shot, regardless if he's gonna take it or not. He's going to hustle for a rebound and he's going to defend anyone on the court they need him to.

Jordan could rebound (people forget he averaged 30/8/8), but why waste energy when pippen and
Rodman (2nd 3peat) could?

He's taken over and had 2 straight 40 point games with his back against the wall.

Pretty killer instinct-ish

It has been damned entertaining to see him step up.

I think of LeBron like the NY Yankees. I know they deserve to win titles. I just want them to suffer a little in between. He's paid what he "owes me". He can have title now.

I give him my blessing.

That's kind of the camp I'm in. I'm a Jordan fanboy, I don't think he's as great as Jordan, and the constant comparison irks me. But I can separate that and I still like LeBron and appreciate him, and would like to see him win. The fact that he has all these great moments and you can even make the comparison is amazing

Wilt is probably the best comparison to LeBron.
As I've said before and this series has proven, MJ is the only comparison for Lebron.
