I'm not sure what all he did at Arkansas, but the guy just can't get it done on the road when it counts

Petrino in noteable road games during his tenure at Louisville

2004 at #4 Miami - UofL blows 31-14 lead to lose
2005 at West Virginia - UofL blows 17 point 4th qtr lead to lose
2006 at #15 Rutgers - UofL blows 25-7 lead. The loss potentially kept us out of the BCS title game
2014 at Clemson - Had the ball 1st and goal with under a minute left in the game but turned it over on downs. Lost by 6
2015 at #8 FSU - Blowout loss to Noles
2016 at #5 Clemson - Loss
2016 at Houston - Loss

Guy is great at home. Very mediocre on the road. One of the reasons why we will probably never be a "great" football team. The Alabamas, the Ohio State's, etc win the big road games

Just curious, what are the big road games won by any coach at Louisville. I don't know your schools history.

Without looking, Schnellenberger probably had a couple when they were independent.

2011 @ Bama...... Destroyed
2011 @ #1 LSU. Blew an early 14-0 lead

Those were the only big road games he ever had

While that may be UL's kryptonite, Houston has proven to be one of the most bi-polar teams of 2016. They could lose to, or beat anyone.

Didn't they get jobbed at Florida Tebow's senior year? I want to say that really awful SEC ref (Penn something?) threw a flag for an unnecessary roughness against an offensive lineman for blocking a guy and it killed them in the last couple of minutes

*EDIT*

It was on a defensive lineman with Florida driving..my bad

The road has always torn him up. Some might call it... road rash.

He won at Georgia one year but I can't remember how good they were.

The fighting Petrinos have never played in Athens
UGA did beat them by a couple of TD's in 2014 Belk Bowl

The Big East might've been trash most years but goddamn if '06 wasn't one of the most fun conference races I've ever seen with WVU, UL, and Rutgers (Rutgers!) all fighting for it well into November.

Arkansas beat Georgia in Athens in 2010.

The only other big road game that Petrino won at Arkansas was @South Carolina in 2010 when I believe SC was ranked close to the top 10. Believe we won by 20-30.

Just checked. SC was #17 and we were #18. Knile Davis went off that game.

Also 2 weeks later we won @MS State against Mullen's 2nd best team at Starkville.

God the SEC West was so fricking stacked in 2010.

2010-2011 SEC West was two years where that division was just head and shoulders above the rest of CFB
