Losing that schollie hurts them down the road. However, Redd gives them a big injection of talent in a spot of need. Kiffin is probably playin this correct. McNeal is a small back and adding Redd would allow USC to be more balanced.

As long as he is allowed to transfer without penalizing either himself or USC, this just makes sense. We have two great backs coming in next season, but there's no need to burn their eligibility right away. It actually sets the Trojans up for the future a little better that way.

they have not played in regularly and years add to the fact these kids do not want to go from playing infront of 100k to playing infront of 20k at best.

I'll say this if USC does get Redd and takes too many carries from Mcneal who I think is the better and more explosive runningback it could end up hurting them.

We could really use more than just one proven RB.

SC likes the big back/little back alternation to hit defenses with. Redd would be a perfect addition, IMHO.

Wasn't Mcneal pretty good in short yardage last year? He's like 5'7 right?

Obviously you want a proven player like Redd but it took them half a season to realize what they had in Mcneal, so we'll see if they end underusing him for the sake of having a big back like they did with Tyler.

If McNeal were to get injured, USC would be completely screwed. They'd probably have to move a wide receiver over to add depth at RB. Getting Redd would be critical simply from a depth standpoint

When Tyler came in we had 4 or 5 RB's. Now we have McNeal and Buck Allen (already injured) and some incoming freshmen.

Redd will get carries if he goes to SC.

Agree even if you had depth it would be stupid to turn down someone as good as Redd. I just think it would be interesting if he comes in and ends up taking too many carries away from Mcneal who I think is better.

no shite Penn State avg's over 40k but the notion of Pitt avg more than 40k actual fans in the seats is funny.

People on here were ripping them for maybe having 15k on that thursday night game vs USF

Kiffin! Probably been recruiting him since November.

Probation should prevent any of these players from going to USC or Ohio St

I just don't know if USC needs a drama of the media tailing some player from PSU to USC...and then interviewing him non-stop in camp, after games to talk about the different football cultures and "what did he know?"

PSU is such an emotional out of control dumpster fire that anyone who touches anything associated with it seems to get burned.

So if this kid were to go to USC and end up leaving after one season, would USC still only have to field a team of 74 next year? Or would they get their whole 75 schollies still? Because if that's the case, what is stopping Kiffy Boy from recruiting multiple scholly level talent players from PSU to serve as back ups on his team that has a shot at the NC instead of the walk ons he has now and cutting them loose before next season?

Don't know about counting toward the full limit after the year but pretty sure it's case by case basis...NCAA has to approve all transfers...I think someone would catch that.

so its not good enough to frick over kids at PSU for something they had nothing to do with, now you want to restrict where they can go if the leave PSU?

I wish I could pick from over 100 schools to play football for and not pay a dime.

Redd is a stud & only a soph, so him transferring out makes sense. Probably the best player on the team & well respected, so if a player of his caliber is looking to leave, that will be a serious blow. As to SC, not sure how many carries he'd get & he now has a smaller window to sell himself to to the pros.
