Doesn't it seem wrong that USCw can pick up a player from PSU that won't count against their total scholarship numbers while they are currently serving scholarship restrictions themselves? What a frick up if the NCAA allows USC or any other schools with current scholarship restrictions to except PSU transfers. If these types of teams want to accept these players, they need to count against their scholarship numbers in order to enforce that school's punishment.

I believe the NCAA is doing this on a case by case basis. So, USC may not even get this granted, from what I understand.

I would hope so, but NCAA incompetence isn't exactly unprecedented.

Me either. The media always picks one team they drool over. I just don't see USCw's defense being good enough. They remind me a lot of Oklahoma going into 2011

USC's defense could be vulnerable. I also think Oregon has one of the best unknown defenses going into 2012.

Wow. That would be a huge pickup for Southern Cal. I remember Redd specifically standing out for the Penn State offense. I'm pretty sure he is from Connecticut. It's interesting that he is looking at Southern Cal over schools in that region (or other Big 10/ACC) schools.

Redd could be on a NC title contender and get good snaps and a first class education. Oh, yeah, have you seen the women in SoCal. I really couldn't blame the kid.

I understand where you are getting at. But, isn't Curtis McNeal still at USC? Plus, being from Connecticut and going to Penn State, I assumed he wanted to stay close to home or stay in the Northeast.

No depth at RB for SC. This would be a great move for him. He'd be there go to back next year and contribute a lot this year. Exposure exposure for him. This would be a huge pick up for SC. ANd I do bet, since SC has been very straight, the NCAA will allow it.

Also, I was just informed that Kiffin has expressed interest in taking him. LFK trying to work more magic.

1,241 yards as a SO.

And maybe the current powers that be will say since Paul Dee sucks, we will throw USC a bone to try to make up for what that fat arse did.

Can't see the NCAA allowing a school on probation to benefit like this

I don't care why they allow it, as long as they do. This will be interesting to see.

I can't see them not allowing it as long as Kif stays within the numbers (and he will). We shall see

Since this kid is getting jobbed by the NCAA, it stands to reason he would do well to go to the program that knows how to stick it right in the NCAA's eye. Legally and above board, a great big Faulk You to Emmert and his ilk. Great addition to SC's current squad IMHO, if it happens.

As long as they are within the rules laid upon them, why not?

If they take Redd, there will be a price. It's not like they are circuventing the rules. If they take Redd, they lose a schollie for 2013 (they could take 14 plus the 3 EE and be at 17 instead of 18) They also would be capped at 74 next year.

Losing that schollie hurts them down the road. However, Redd gives them a big injection of talent in a spot of need. Kiffin is probably playin this correct. McNeal is a small back and adding Redd would allow USC to be more balanced.
