Get this His max deal will be 4/$154 from other team or 5/$207 mil. Seeing how teams threw money at mediocre players like Parsons, Solomon Hill, Ian Mahimi, etc. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Milsap making nearly 40 mil per season

And contracts like these are helping me understand Ryan Anderson's 4/$80 million contract.

I'm as pro player as they come but a lot of teams are destroying their future payroll flexibility and ability to compete for championships by giving "max" deals to non superstar players.

Get it now. I feel as though the NBA has maxed out on popularity.

Popularity will rise but the downfall of cable will lead to a massive drop off in revenue once the current tv deals expire. For all sports really

I like Paul but I hope we don't give him that 5 year deal.

Paul's first phone call after signing his new contract. Paul Louisiana Tech's AD is on line one. LOL! Thank you Paul for the new scoreboard at the TAC and whatever you feel like contributing to your Alma Mater in the future!

teams are already feeling buyers' remorse after the cap figure came under projections. Wouldn't be surprised to see teams a little tighter with these deals this offseason.

some really bad deals out there are going to frick some teams over. Pelicans/Lakers come to mind

That's great and all, but he's not a max contract kind of player. And I love his game.

FIFY, Grambling Lab (AKA Lincoln Prep) gets kids from all over Lincoln/Claiborne/Union/Bienville/Jackson Parish, or at least they did in the past.

Milsap has come a long way. I remember watching him in HS and college and he had the looks of a role player with elite rebounding ability and a good inside game. Since coming into the league he has done a great job expanding his game and becoming an All Star level player, it's good to see guys from the state work hard at their craft and get paid for it.

La Tech fans on here, what new will y'all have at your bball facility after he signs this deal? IIRC he bought y'all a huge video board when he inked his last deal.

In that case, I'm a max contract player.

Yes we do

Also I thought to get the 5/200 type deal you had to be named to an All-NBA team? I thought I remembered reading this from the Hayward/George speculation but I might be misremembering the new rule
