Couldn't the NFL be a ridiculous hard arse and consider that gambling on your own team? Maybe not, because it doesn't explicitly say that he agreed to buy the fan a beer if that lost.

Yea wasn't a "real bet" or whatever... More along the lines of them heckling him and saying stuff like they are gonna lose and he won't get a sack or whatever, and he tells them to have a beer ready for him when they win... And aure enough, they did.
