McDaniels should atleast get a serious reprimand himself. His gameplan was horrible, as was Belichick's overall coaching effort. Never in a thousand years did I think Gary Kubiak and Wade Phillips would out-coach Bill Belichik, but they took him to the cleaners Sunday IMO.

Sometimes you face a defense that is just really fricking good.

Not going to argue that for a second. However, when you are facing a really good defense, you have to mix things up to see if you can find a weakness/hole. From an outsider, it just didn't seem like that was done enough.

Can't remember the last time Belicheck fired someone like this. Maybe it's hopeful wishing but maybe this is the year he goes balls to the wall to find some shiny offensive toys to help Brady out, he and Brady aren't getting any younger and that defense is young and elite and cheap right now

They need a running game. Can't throw 50 times a game

I would agree, but the dink and dunk passing game is pretty much equivalent to a running game.

Same thing with the Saints when they play against elite DLs. It covers deficiencies in your run blocking as well as below average to average linemen in pass protection.

Issue is that denver had an answer for it and they didn't adjust outside of that.

For most teams, no. But the Patriots have been successful with that strategy.

Sucks for him, but I think Mcdaniel's game plan fricked the Pats from the get go. 23 times is unacceptable, even in junior high.

I'm more pissed at the defensive gameplan than the offensive game plan

The first two drives the Broncos scored on we decided to give the WRs 30 yards of cushion on the outside even though manning can't throw past 10 yards for the most part. After they went up and battled the WRs at the line the couldn't move unless they were handed great field position. That was just a weird decision by Belicheck and the beard

The offensive gameplan was the same its been since Dion Lewis got hurt and the same it was last season when they won a Super Bowl expect they didn't have a Shane Vereen or Dion Lewis to make it work. Only gripe I have that I can put on mcdaniels is the atrocious 4 & 1 play call and not trying to get a second TE involved to get better matchups

Can someone explain why Belichick refuses to get rid of McDaniels and Patrica

And had Manning been able to connect on some of the wide open targets, the game could have been a lot worse. I didn't put much thought into the defensive struggles bc as a non-follower I am so used to seeing the offense moving the ball effortlessly.

I'm sure the team would agree with that, but when you have 3-4 RBs on IR and you are left with a pas catching specialist and S Jackson as your main RBs, you are going to struggle to develop any sort of rushing attack.

How many of these hits were after Brady surveyed the field, couldn't find anything, and then freaked out?

He definitely had a good amount of pressure, but he played like shite at time, too. When he doesn't have easy 3 yard throws, it really limits what he can do.

They are both good coaches. Firing them would be dumb. I mean we just won the fricking super bowl I must be the only one not melting about the loss. It's the "cleanest" playoff loss in the Brady era, just a great game that the pats came up short in because of some missing pieces that ended up on IR

We'll be right back in it next season with a good to great defense and hopefully some better and healthier linemen and WRs.
