bad calls that went against both teams, but this excessive celebration penalty after a sack on 3rd Down was a killer. Gave Arizona a 1st and goal which resulted in the go ahead score.

He ran towards HIS sideline and bowed. Not towards AZ's sideline...the Oregon sideline.

Also, Arizona deserved to win. They were the better team.

AZ had pretty much the same thing happen to them.

I do agree that was a cheap call at a huge moment in the game, but Oregon deserved to lose.

There were some horrible calls last night. But you're right, Zona was the better team.

I am ecstatic that Oregon lost, but you are right about this.

Not quite as bad as the call on Todd Gurley's celebration this past weekend though.

Officials all over are unbelievably random in their celebration calls.

Why didn't he bow after he gave up a first down run up the middle on 3rd and 20?

Players must not make or do any gestures that draw individual attention to them on the field of play in celebration of a play. It was the right call.

It's not the right call unless they call it every time.
Watch the LSU defense. Happens every time they make a good play.

He ran 30 yards away from the play to near midfield and celebrated. It's a penalty. They would've called it at any point in the game. His dumbass just did it at the worst possible time.

Bingo. All he had to do was run to the sideline and do it. But he had to be an arse. Lesson learned, the hard way.

You can't celebrate in college football. He celebrated. Excellent call.

Just because it's not always called, doesn't make doing what that player did acceptable. He was rightfully penalized.

That call represents everything wrong with football. So dumb to cost a team a game and maybe a championships over a guy celebrating a clean play.

This. He didn't get up after the tackle and immediately do it. If noticed, it's going to get called doing it this way.

That said,

Yep

I swear that Pac 12 officials don't fully understand football or its rules sometimes. How about that intentional grounding call, and nearly calling it again right after?

Most teams have to overcome a bad call or two to win the game. I understand a Oregon is not used to this concept.
