I guess child molestation was not the best maneuver for Heimlich.

He's still on the team and could pitch if he wanted to. He dismissed himself the last few weeks to take the spotlight off the team, but he could play. He served his sentences, only reason anyone found out about it is he didn't register as a sex offender this year and the Orgonian Scooped it.......no one woulda known otherwise and he'd be a multi-millionaire now.

Saw a post that said MLB teams knew about it somehow. Not sure how true it is.

MLB probably read the same articles in April that we read.

Truth:
quote:

A pro prospect/convicted felon cultivated his brand, blew away hitters and won games for the Beavers while taking the public's money in the form of a state-supported scholarship.

This single episode has the potential to melt any shred of faith you may have in the NCAA and college sports.

People who are suggesting they will pitch Luke are out of their minds.

There is enormous public pressure from everyone around the team and university to not play the kid. In fact I will confidently say the PAC 12 commissioner has already called the OSU coach and advised him they're in deep shite from the conference if he trots out on the mound this weekend.

He was a registered SO-they knew. Pro teams can be ruthless in background checks.
I'm all for rehabilitation and doing your time but Heimlich not re- registering is a huge red flag. There may be another shoe waiting to drop.

Would kind of love for him to start against LSU on Monday and have our fans heckle him incessantly.

Too late for that. He's part of their success this year. 11-1 with a 0.76 ERA.

no

closest was Aaron Nola in 2014. he went 11-1 with a 1.47 ERA. He also went 12-1 with a 1.57 ERA in 2013

If you can forget about the potential matchup for a minute, think about how wrong all of this is. The dude is having everything that he worked for taken away because of mistakes he made WHEN HE WAS 15. He was punished, but these registry laws are some of the worst things society has managed to come up with.

There is making a mistake and then there is molesting a 4-6 year old for 2 years. If he would have been busted smoking pot or stealing from a convenient store I'd see your point but come one you going to tell me at 15 you didn't know that it was wrong to do that to a child?

I don't know how he gets a regular job going forward

Would records have been sealed if he just did his report as required?

I wouldn't. Do you realize how many kids are at the CWS? Now you tell me if you'd want your 6-12 year old daughter asking you what rape is or what sexual predator is

The player should be banned from the stadium for the lone reason that he's a known sex offender of a minor and the amount of kids going to these games
