Because what's more American than forcing your people to publicly worship the government. Right?

What's more american than a bunch of halfwits saying "well I don't care" about anything and everything and standing for absolutely nothing?

and being applauded for it

What made this country great in the first place was giving the people the right to do whatever the hell they wanted.

Nope

That's why the founding fathers had to hash out and put on paper a list of rights, because just doing whatever the hell you want leads to a broken country.

I own a business, I get to make the rules.

It has to be that way, or my business won't survive.

Protest by quitting if it's that important to you... that's the right you have

Especially when you do not have a legal land to stand on (CBA).

The CBA takes away the ability of coaches benching players? The owner is the coaches boss and can tell him to bench the player if he doesn't stand. The coaches don't fall under the players' CBA, unless I'm mistaken.

If you don't think that freedom is what made America the greatest country on Earth then we're not even on the same wavelength.

I doubt this is real, however if an owner did say this , I wonder if they took money from the DOD to show signs of patriotism during NFL pregame shows.

omg why are people still so worried about this

Not everyone cares about WHY they are doing it but instead that hear athletes forget they are employees. Most of them are completely replaceable and need to be reminded of that occasionally.
