no, I still use every game on the schedule. For example, I look at both Buffalo and Kent St and put them in the bucket of, "why the frick are these games even played"

you see these games and then extrapolate into massive amounts of more data.

Ok so

Team 1 loss vs top 10 team on the road

Or

Team 2 loss to 6-6 team at home

Your argument accounts for both teams having an 0-1 record. I don't think either of those teams belongs in the playoff given those facts.

"ranked more highly"

I think higher or highest would be appropriate here.

You're mistaken. "Ranked" is a verb. Its modifier must be an adverb or adverb phrase, like "more highly," rather than an adjective like "higher" or "highest."

Ohio State in in ONLY because the BIG 12 is full of dumbasses and didn't add 2 more teams to have a conference championship game.

This year was a perfect example of why each Power 5 conference should be required to have one. It isn't fair that TCU or Baylor didn't have to risk losing an extra game, but yet if Oregon, Alabama, or Ohio State lost yesterday, they would have been out because of that extra game.

A lot of truth is here. If Baylor had one extra win--vs. Kansas State, presumably--their SOS would be higher, and they'd have a better record. It is likely Baylor would be ahead of Ohio State in this case.

Results vs teams that are ranked similarly.

Team 1 41-20
Team 2 49-37

That's a matter of opinion, but the numbers do nothing other than indicate that TCU's and Baylor's were, mathematically speaking, shittier.

Another matter of opinion, and irrelevant to the argument I am presenting.

No, you're describing Ohio State, not ranked.

Your argument accounts for both teams being 1-0. Did they not play anymore games?

If tOSU played WVU's schedule this year they lose 3 games at least.

Team 1 struggled against what turned out to be some pretty bad teams.

Now, to be fair, OSU played a shite schedule too but TCU's primary problem is that if you want to overcome the team with the same # of losses as you playing in a bad conference, you sort of can't be in a f'n awful conference yourself and lose to the ONLY good team you played against.

You make it a toss up at that point. Let's be blunt, if TCU makes it in, OSU would have just as many things to point out how they got screwed.

I really think that Baylor plays in a title game against say, OK and whips them, they get in over OSU. Instead, OSU got to have the stage to themselves and f'n slaughtered a decent team. Wisky aint great, but, they're not Samford.

Considering that team one has been more impressive in each of the 3 instances that just makes it TCU > Ohio state on common opponents losses and results vs commonly ranked or rated teams.

"more highly" modifies "is ranked." Stop trying to give English lessons when you don't know what the frick you're talking about, kid.

It's good, hard evidence. It's a fraction of what counts.

This.
I think it is easy to see that if TCU or Baylor won a conference championship game, they would be in the playoffs.

If a conference championship shouldn't matter, then it shouldn't matter if Bama, Oregon, or Ohio State lost in their games yesterday.
