What's in store?

The college football team just interviewed him concerning the OSU VT game and he focused on sports betting.

I'm really hoping this show leaves the bullshite fluff in the dust, and it looks like it will. I wasn't happy when the news came out that he was leaving SVP and Russillo, but I think this show will be absolutely fantastic.

I feel like they want this to be SVP Letterman. Or the Late Show with SVP.

No, it's a mix.

I would guess kind of like Mike and Mike on ESPN combined with SportsCenter.

I see it more as giving the "why the frick are we not focusing on the actual sports" fans what they want. He doesn't like the Twitter shite. He doesn't like faking his way through a bullshite show.

This is almost sad that Sportscenter has gone this way, but I think this will be an adult Sportscenter.

Stanford Steve left the radio show to help produce the SVP TV show. He was on local ESPN radio affiliate in BR explaining that they will have segments like, "Who was your worst beat this weekend?" And go over bad betting losses from each weekend and also historically for them.

I have no idea whether it will be a success. What I do know is that it appears ESPN realizes that Scott and Ryan's approach to sports radio-which was totally retrograde to the typical local and national formula-was hugely successful and it grew organically, without anywhere near the staggering marketing push in terms of dollars and campaigns that Mike and Mike shoved off from shore with.

They are hoping that he has enough creative juice to translate that success across mediums. Kinda strange. It's been awhile since a radio personality tried to make the jump to television. We'll find out how it works soon enough.

SVP is not a typical radio personality. His career has mainly been television.

Most underrated news this decade.

No. Yes, but no. Normal people are tired of the bullshite that politics and sports and life throw in our face. I don't care that Tebow is a Christian. I don't care that Patrick Peterson donated a million to his HS. I do care, but I don't need my to hear about it when I'm trying to discuss sports. No matter how popular and important social issues become, simply talking life and sports will have its place. ESPN and every other news outlet in America has forgotten that. I'm hoping this show is ESPN listening to people who just want honest news and talk about sports and life.

Which was why it was successful. It was like Stern but sports centered. Sit there and shoot the shite like your average Joe for a few hours. They didn't need the bullshite shows like M&M have. It was just two guys talking sports, life, and a little pop culture.

What's different about this? He anchors all the time. Count on ESPN to repackage the same ole crap and make it seem new and exciting.

He better be a lot better than Mike and Mike. They are silly and aim for 12 year olds.

So where exactly in that was a disagreement articulated and what was said disagreement directed at? Because believe me the kvetching and sociopolitical angles and their injection into both the ESPN TV and Radio platforms is exactly what I meant when I indicated their approach was retrograde.
