I'm actually ok with this line of thinking. At least he made up his mind and won't vote for anyone from the steroid era. I totally disagree with him, but at least he isn't cherry picking who he think used and who he think didn't like some of these other idiots.

So when does he have a vote again when nothing but Steroid Era players are up for a vote? Why even have a vote if you're not going to use them?

But putting up those numbers as a pitcher in a juiced era would make him and Tom G more of HOFers, IMO

jack morris was still pitching for the first 8 years of maddux's career. clemens had already won 2 cy youngs i think when morris retired. bonds had won an mvp before he retired.

morris pitched in the steroid era, no question.

he just shouldn't have turned in a ballot if he was going to be like this

I'm shocked Thomas got in so easily- after all, he hit home runs so according to writers' logic, he's tainted by the steroid era

except people looked back at his voting history and he has already voted for steroid era players. he's a goon.

Jacque Jones 1 (0.2) 1
Kenny Rogers 1 (0.2) 1

I mean really? These guys had votes to be inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame? Writers actually voted for these guys.

Some writers will vote for a player out of respect to the player and him having a career. I am ok with that but this ballot was stacked and some deserving people were left off. Of course with 10 slots and a lot of writers who didn't even fill in 10 names I can't blame it all on those guys

Just about everyone lost ground due to the crowded ballot:

Bagwell 54.3 -5.3
Raines 46.1 -6.1
Clemens 35.4 -2.2
Bonds 34.7 -1.5
Smith 29.9 -27.9
Schilling 29.2 -9.6
Edgar 25.2 -10.7
Trammell 20.8 -13.8
McGriff 11.0 -5.9
McGwire 11.0 -5.9
Walker 10.2 -11.4
Mattingly 8.2 -5.0
Sosa 7.2 -5.3

Only Piazza and Biggio picked up votes. Which leads me to believe they will both eventually be inducted.
