He wants more than the team thinks he is worth, I think they will eventually work it out but if Reds do move him it wouldn't surprise me.

Yankees apparently in on Chris Sale as well and I think Yankees will make a big move now that the Padres have taken Headley off the block. Gardner or Ichiro gone

Our owner sells produce for a living and the team is located in the rust belt. And Joey Votto.

If Homer continues his trend, he's gonna command a 9 figure salary.

So youre saying they should have locked him up yrs ago, i.e. the Rays.

They spent a ton of money locking up Votto, Bruce, and Phillips, not to mention spending all that money to sign Chapman as an international free agent. It's not like they aren't spending any money. Those three guys i mentioned above were open to negotiations. Homer and his agent haven't been, thus far.

Hey! This isn't a goddamn reds thread!!

With that said, I've always wondered how many deals have ever been made or backed out of while these guys are at the bar shitfaced.

He's been rumored to be on the block since the season ended.

Sox better get a huge haul if they move Sale. Price is the bigger name but Sale would be the better value

Probably not but you never know, I would have thought Detroit could have had more for Fister (yes Sale >>> Fister)

Reports of Nelson Cruz turning down 5 years 75 million from Mariners

Also trade between Blue Jays, Rangers, and a third team didn't happen because of a failed physical

Meanwhile, the Cards got most of their shite done already while keeping all of their young pitching and draft choices.

Tweak the bench and they are good to go.

They need someone to replace Beltran's production... Bourbon and Jay are really more suited for the 4th OF role.

Not necessarily. Craig to RF and Adams gets full time at bats at 1B.

With the top prospect in baseball likely making the team in the Spring.

It's good to be a Cardinals fan.

Interesting. Anyone see the article about how big of a s**thouse their front office is?

So a Jay/Bourjas rotation in center till Taveras is ready? That OF would be particularly good minus CF....

Of course they won't hit like 40 points higher than the league average with runners on base again but the young pitchers stepping up should neutralize that, plus no Jake Westbrook helps

Even as a Mariners fan it was a pretty fascinating article to get a glimpse into an organization. But obviously terrifying too, Friedman is going to bend the Mariners over in a Price trade.

Mariners don't want to include Walker, they want the centerpiece of a deal to involve Ackley or Franklin, so they not getting Price.
