Beckham wants to see the NFL's top stars make what their NBA counterparts do.

"You want to change the game," Beckham said, via ProFootballTalk.com. "You watch people in the NBA, and it's crazy what they get. There are people in the NFL who deserve that. I just to be at the forefront, help push the league, the game that way, because I feel like the players deserve it."

Earlier this month, NFL players were gobsmacked by the $201 million contract Golden State gave to Steph Curry (including $40 million in guaranteed annual salary), though it's worth remembering that the two professional leagues operate under different salary structures because of their respective collective bargaining agreements.

Nobody "deserves" anything other than what their employer is willing to pay them.

He's really becoming an annoying little punk. Great athlete and all but success has gotten to his head.

If success going to his head entails a 1,300 yd/11 TD performance in 2017, then let that narcissism grow son!

Tell him to go play in the NBA then. Per game, that contract is less than 8 mil in the NFL.

Beckham has been a spoiled rich kid his whole life. Of course he's going to use a word like deserve. I doubt he has much of a grasp on economics also.

Meh. There's a lot more to it than that. Many employers if they had their way would force their employees to work for nothing. There's an interaction of economics going on here.

Which Odell is showing himself to be foolishly ignorant of himself here. NFL and NBA players when taken as a whole earn pretty close percentages of total revenues of their respective leagues. NBA players earn a little higher percentage of total revenue, but it isn't some huge difference. The big difference comes from 52 players on a roster vs like 15 on a roster. The pie is split into more pieces for the NFL. Basically, Odell is fricking up on his understanding of basic fractions. It's kind of sad to be that publicly foolish.

NBA players make much much more impact individually than NFL players do. Only a QB can truly single handedly take over and make the individual impact in a game that a basketball player can make. Even the best RBs can be schemed to be contained if there is no passing threat.

Plus NBA teams only have to pay 14 active players vs 53 in the NFL. And the NFL isn't making that much more money to make up that gap in pay.

How did this moron pass his classes at LSU?

Yep

Players have more impact on average, play more games, and it is a more elite league.

Some NBA players, like Lebron, are underpaid.

The bigger question is how much money would Beckham really make in the NFL if all the elite athletes decided to play football. NBA players in general are on another level.

I am still blown away by how many college basketball stars don't transition to football soon enoguh when they realize basketball is too elite.

So basically he's saying, frick the other 50 guys on the roster, pay the tip of the iceberg massive amounts of money.

That should go over real well with his teammates.

He is correct that some players have earned their voice at the table for being compensated comparatively to NBA players. The problem is, he is not one of those players.
