I don't get why no one makes an effort to turn anyone in until the playoffs. They played 20 something regular season games, did no one get suspicious then?

But didn't Vandy turn themselves in before the playoffs? If so LHSAA shouldn't have let them ride it out through the playoffs they just should've made sure the investigation was done before the playoffs started.

people that know.. are

1. people whose kids play off season ball with the players..
2. people at other schools close to the violating school
3. and this is the most likely case.. people AT the school with an ax to grind...

people usually don't come out with it until it can really hurt..

I am all too familiar with a case in which a parent turned the school their KID went to, out of frustration over the the other kid taking playing time from their son.

it happens all year, just makes the news in playoffs.. or when it's a power house.

bullshite then cheating would be rampant

waiting until you lose to report info is also bullshite. if people have information before than what is the hold up? why wait until you lose. this happened to st. aug back in 98 if my memory serves me right. hammond knew ahead of time about an ineligible player but waited until they blew the game and lost before turning in st. aug by the next available business day. st. aug was disqualified and hammond moved on to the top 28 tournament if lafayette. cheating is cheating. whats the point if you win and the title gets stripped? how would it be more rampant?

True... but again it is usually not the team that lost that drops the dime, in fact it rarely is.. and they usually need evidence.

and... here is the kicker..
you can't file a complaint that a team you are about to PLAY... MAY use an ineligible player.. but you can file a complaint that they DID...

how does anyone all of a sudden get this kind of info? it makes the lhsaa looked even sillier and powerless.

What a terrible person.

The shite that goes on with HS athletics baffles me sometimes.

the kid in question was living with 3 different grand parents and/or great grand parents at the same time, neither had custody. mom lived in previous school district pop in a different one also.

parent went to LHSAA knowing all of this, player in question had filed for hardship and it was under review....

odd thing many years later the two players are still friends...

taught me a lot about what people are willing to do though....

Once kids started playing organized ball, it stopped being about them, and was all about the school, town, sponsor, coach, parent, boosters, band, cheerleaders, vendors, dance line, etc.

I didnt even think that was ever even in question

This is the same Kenny Henderson who would not allow schools to pre sell semifinal round tickets. Which caused chaos at the arenas. Thanks Kenny
