Yeah because one half of football is the only thing that should matter in the evaluation of his entire college career. You should send in your analysis to the NFL scouts. Without it they'd probably be lost
In fairness, you are referring to the same scouts that presumably thought it was brilliance to take Jamarcus and Ryan Leaf high.
Yeah, yeah, they've forgotten more football than we'll ever know and all that but sometimes the fans in the stands are right.

Assuming Winston declares, Tampa will take him first. I could see the titans passing on Mariotta, although they may get a good trade offer from someone jumping up to 2 to take him.

I didn't base my comment on today at all,but thanks for your conjecture. He reminds me of Manziel is what I said.

Jameis is so much better it's not even funny.
I feel like I'm the only person who isn't an FSU fan or an NFL scout that feels this way.
The guy is way, WAY better and if[when] he declares he will be the first pick and it won't even be close.

Marriorta isn't so much a bust, but he's not a guy that you are going to plug in and he's going to make a pro bowl in 2-3 years. he's a steve young clone IMHO. he's gonna need some time but if he gets the time he will be good
the problem is, no team drafting him is gonna ive it to him. he's the type of guy you take behind a QB that's got 4-5 years left and let him sit
Jamies for all his off the field shite, is NFL ready. he will throw a shite load of picks his first year but by year 2 he will be lights out.

I would be happy if Tampa drafts either one w/ the #1 pick, but I'm a saints fan.

If we're talking strictly football, Jameis > Mariotta is pretty much a universal sentiment, from what I'm seeing.
It's the other potential risk factors that unnerve some people.

I would not touch either one of them but if i had to i would rather gamble on the guy who can play and hope he acts right then a guy who sucks dick who goes to church every sunday.

Scouts jobs are to evaluate players potential. They can't determine whether a player will go nuts or lose all their previous motivation
We will all agree that both Leaf and Russel had all the physical potential in the world and they blew it because they're nutjobs. Pro scouts evaluate football talent, not mental states. I'd say they were mostly right...ish

Most likely scenario. We're going to see a lot of Winston to Evans over the next decade.

Winston will be so much better than him in the NFL. Winston is a much better pocket passer and makes better reads. He is not very mobile though and seems very clumsy.

I don't think there is a good QB in this draft.
Same here. I don't think there is a QB worth taking in the 1st in the draft. But due to the demand of the position, both guys will be early picks in the draft.

Pretty accurate.

How does he remind you of Manziel?

He'd be fine for the Eagles for a couple years, but I don't think he's an Andrew Luck guy most teams could build around.

Mariota
Not in a pro offense. Doesn't read a defense pre-snap. Jameis is light years ahead of him.

Andrew Lucks don't come around often

Winston goes to church every Sunday? Wouldn't have guessed from his off field antics
