Wait---so that Texas/Notre Dame WASN'T a heavyweight bout between two potential playoff teams?

Shocking, I tell you.

After their first 28 games.

Dennis Franchione (Texas A&M): 14-14

Mike Sherman (Texas A&M): 13-15

Charlie Strong (Texas): 13-15

It's schadenfreude. There's a difference.

I think this is the year that one conference (Big 10 or SEC) will get two teams into the playoffs. The Pac 12 and Big 12 are a mess right now. I don't expect either of those conference champs to have anything less than 2 losses.

TAMU should have stayed in the big 12; without an SEC schedule would be ranked highest in the big 12.

No way we would have the same roster and coaching staff in this theoretical situation

Houston is team #4 if they beat Louisville.

It's a long-longshot, but a 10-2/11-1 Big 12 champion Oklahoma State team gets in if the committee chooses to ignore one of their losses and there is no credible team near them.

PAC 12 currently has 2 top 10 teams. The Stanford/Washington winner likely runs the table.

Stanford most likely wins the conference, but they'll lose a couple just like last year. This is one of the weakest teams of the Shaw era. UW is being wildly overrated.

I know they've played a ridiculously weak schedule so far, but I've seen them play in person and that defense is just nasty.

Without much of a running game (their glaring weakness at this point), they've jumped out to leads of

24-0 vs. Rutgers (Won 48-13)
42-0 vs. Idaho (Won 59-14)
and 28-0 vs. Portland State (Won 41-3)

before the opponent even scored.

The big 12 has become what the Big ten once was, just not good and a mess
