Thompson is a great player that benefits a ton from Golden State's style of play and playing with Steph. He has a great skillset for them. He was smart to sign a big deal there because he would be an overpaid #1 option somewhere else.

So Thompson isn't a better two play player. Two ways considers the two sides of basketball. If Harden is that much better offensively, you consider that in the "two ways."
I hate the use of "two ways" as a synonym for defense. It's just inaccurate.
