Doubt they move on him but Rick Jones is getting kinda stale there.

Since they built that new stadium they haven't won shite. I don't think they've made the field the last two years.

4 years I think. Made the regional once with the new stadium.

Eta: the current group of seniors were supposed to be really good. Cannizaro and Mckenzie both drafted out of HS haven't ever really done anything. Middleton, Boudreaux and crohan have been starting for 4 years now along with Cannizaro and none have been anything special. Really they haven't even been good for the most part.

If they don't make it this year I wonder what ole socks in the pants excuse will be? That guy has to be the whiniest coach in America.

Crazy to think they were the #1 overall seed right before Katrina.

I like the guy personally, most of his complaints in the past have been legitimate. His mistake was when he brought in Cressend as pitching coach and has now only hired former players to be on the staff. Sutter is a good coach as well, but the rest of the guys are suspect at best.

They just havent recruited well. Up until 05 or 06 tulane always had top 25 classes. Havent had one of those in a while....and next yrs is currently ranked #42

This is why Jones still has like a 10-15 year grace period.

Katrina fricked that program over big time, recruiting-wise and they never really recovered. Not saying that he shouldn't be on the hot seat, but that is the state of things.

Yea, I think in 06 Mark Kingston left for Illinois St. he had a big part in building the 05 team and before him it was Schlossnagle who is now at TCU.

Boudreaux and Crohan

Both are injured .. Tulane starting pitcher last night Tyler Mapes (who was dealing) also left the game due to injury ..

I think that is now three pitchers and two starters who are out due to injury in this young season.. No excuses, tulane still needs to beat nicholls and had it's chance in the ninth ... If they lose tonight to UNO, some people may jump off the GNO Bridge

I believe the transfer rule really hurt Tulane.

Agreed. Iff the top of my head they had Micah Owings, who went off to play in the MLB transfer in from GT and Shooter Hunt a first round pick come in from UVa.

Highlight of the game for me was my nephew scoring from second on a bunt.
Great win for the Colonels. Another tough game tonite against ULL after getting crushed last night.
