Maple Leafs= Alabama of Hockey. Their fans come in drones and buy everything.

Awesome setup and matchup..

Only wish it weren't heads-up vs Bowls on New Years most years.

That's gonna be badass... Think they'll actually be able to sell 100K+ tickets though?

With out a doubt. Toronto and Detroit are top tier hockey fan bases.

Yea no doubt they picked the right teams for a huge venue like that, but 100K tickets is a lot for hockey.

With those 2 teams, 100K should happen.

Toronto is one of the 10 largest cities in north America and is less than a 5 hour drive from Detroit. It's harder to get a ticket to a leafs game than an lsu game. 100k is happening - - by the way they did as much in college hockey a few years back when Michigan played Michigan state and nobody cares about college hockey.

so you can get a ticket to a leafs game for $10 on game day ? how "hard" do you really think it is to get a ticket for an LSU game ??

Why the hell would you go to this? Sitting near the top of the stands you'd be lucky if you could see some of the players let alone the puck.

You serious, Clark?

Original 6 team with a huge fan base that's also within driving distance.

If you couldn't do the math on that, I feel sorry for you.

I was at the Michigan-Michigan State game last year at the Big House in Row 93, 3 from the top. The view was surprisingly good, and the overall experience was a lot of fun. I'd love to have a ticket to Wings-Leafs there.

Awesome. Glad they are including a Canadian team, just to quiet that country's incessent whining about it. Classic matchup. Original Six franchises. Great venue. Let's do this.

Future specultion...

Avs hosting a California team in Mile High
Wild hosting the Stars at Target Field
Caps hosting the Islanders or the Canes at Camden Yards (the Mall is a great idea, but it is logistically impossible)
Rangers hosting the Habs at Yankee Stadium (the dream matchup and stadium, really)
