They changed the rule to stop things like this. The Broncos found a loophole. It needs to be closed.

And rewatch the video. He does touch his teammates with both hands while airborne.

No, no he doesn't. At all.

really?

Maybe a hand grazes the helmet, but that in no way provides leverage, so your point is moot.

It appears given the letter of the rule to be a legal play.

But it makes no sense.

If you touch the long snapper while leaping, it's called leverage and is a penalty. (hard to leap over a guy who is not shoved down and not touch him).

If someone other than the leaper shoves the center down, and the guy leaps, it's ok.

Makes no sense. I guess this will get changed in the offseason.

Credit the broncos for knowing the rule book.

No, it was not. This comes directly from the NFL League Office prior to the start of the season as points of emphasis going into this season.

quote:

POINTS OF EMPHASIS

Field Goal/Extra Point Rush Tactics

*Game officials will monitor and strictly enforce the rules pertaining to illegal acts committed by the defensive team while trying to block field-goal and extra-point attempts during the 2016 season, including:

*Making forcible contact below the waist of offensive blockers.

*Grabbing an offensive blocker and pulling him to the side or toward the ground to create space or a gap for a teammate to rush through.

*Using the hands or other parts of the body to push off an offensive blocker to gain leverage in an effort to block the kick.

Grabbing

Hey look, he didn't grab. He pushed him down.

Can't you people read? The league said it was a legal play.

Get your paperbags off your heads so you can see it more clearly. You can't read through those little holes cut in them.

Oh you mean that assclown VP of league officiating Dean Blandino? The former comedian Dean Blandino who is the one backing HIS GUYS on Mondays, week after week when they are making obvious bad calls & non calls? Joke's on you bruh.

quote:

Sometime around 10 years ago, before he had a wife and kid and one of the most stressful jobs in the NFL, Blandino did stand-up routines on the Upper East Side at the New York Comedy Club, Stand Up NY and Gotham Comedy Club.

Chris Mazzilli, who started Gotham nearly 20 years ago, remembers Blandino's face but can't recall his act. He said Blandino most likely did sets that lasted 15 or 20 minutes.

quote:

"Still not a catch," Blandino restated Friday at the league's officials symposium.

"Control, plus two feet, plus time," Blandino explained on what constitutes a catch. "Where we've gotten to is that everybody tends to agree what control and two feet look like, but it's that time element that tends to be the debatable subject. It is subjective, but what the time element means is having the ball long enough after the second foot is down to become a runner."

This is what I love about you Saints fans...you just exude class in a way only a Hillary supporter can. Don't let anyone take that away from you.

You stay classy, Chocolate City.
