The NHL is the only remaining professional league in the US that has an ounce respect left.

The Goodell era will have an asterisk.

In any previous year, I would watch barely a minute of playoff baseball until the WS if my team wasn't in it.... This year I have watched almost every second. I have consistently watched baseball over NFL also... Only college football has taken me away from baseball. ...

The anthem shite was the breaking point, but it has been a slow decline of a Shitty product for the last few years.

Goodell said owners spent much of the morning discussing the league's collective bargaining agreement, which has reached its halfway point and will expire in 2021. The deal has worked "incredibly well" for players and owners, Goodell said.

Coupled with the fact that the NFL is also on Monday and Thursday and now there are decent college games on fridays. It's getting a bit saturated.

I dunno about that, most fans are pretty disgusted, especially as the season rolls along.

Their player safety department is so back and forth. The league literally does nothing to hinder people trying to ruin one another's careers. Pretty fricking outlandish.

Having several games going on at all time from 11am to midnight makes for a much better product.

Politicizing the sport didn't help anything.

"When you look at ratings you have to go deeper than that," Goodell said. "It's viewers, but also how long they're engaging for, and a lot of times, people will leave a game for whatever reason, whether it's to go to other programming or whether the game is not that competitive."

This is telling and I agree with Goodell (for once) with that. We get shite games on television. Same teams, same divisions, same tired storylines. And if the game on TV doesn't move the needle for me, I'm out. Or if the game is lopsided, I'm gone the moment I know who's gonna win.

I'm beyond going to the sports bar or buying a satellite so I can watch the game I want to watch. If I don't want to watch the game on TV, I'll just do something else. I don't care enough to give them more of my money. And I'm kind of insulted that with all the technology advances and potential, I still have to watch one lousy Patriots/Jets game on TV because that's what WAFB gave us.
