basically any claim that the national ratings sink has nothing to do with declining interest looks foolish. it's not hurricanes, it's not elections, it's not matchups... any explanations involving a given team's current prospects looks foolish. the slump cannot be attributed by a massive decline in just one or a handful of markets.
there's nuanced reasoning needed here, but a lot of claims being pushed by the NFL through sports media and repeated on this board quite a lot...well, turns out that's bullshite.

the decline started last year. trump made a few brief comments and a couple of tweets that most people would describe as reasonable opinions...so what does he have to do with this besides the fact that people like yourself are in full blown trump hysteria. the league knowing that, decided to throw another log onto the fire.

and what are you even saying? are you saying that the decline in ratings is a direct result of trump's remarks and by extension, people boycotting the kneelers?
it started last year as did tDecline. but even though I think the kneeling is a catalyst and soon to be exacerbating this greatly, surely the reason for the tDecline is more nuanced.

what? though paul Tagliabue was definitely the architect of the league's almost unimaginable popularity. goodell is going to be the first commissioner to see broadcasting revenue decline. the networks are going to bend him over.
