It’s amusing you say this when you’ve spent several pages advocating for Kenny fricking Pickett

Your lack of self awareness is actually impressive.

Ehhhh.

Wonder if the Steelers view him more as a Kordell Stewart type (good luck with that) or as a Randle El type (good choice).

I didn't advocate for Pickett. I said that he should of got one more year to be able to make a determination either way about his future. But after the shite he pulled when Wilson was signed, he can kick rocks.

I could give less than two fricks.

Doesn't mean he can play.

Wake me up when he learns to read defenses, his accuracy improves, and his 4th quarter QBR isn't absolutely horrible.

And the first young QB that Arthur Smith develops will be his first. Also this staff hasn't developed a young QB in Tomlin's entire tenure.

They will be in the QB market next off-season

At least the Steelers won't be boring like they've been since Big Ben left.

You’re remarkable at talking yourself in circles.

So you don’t want a young QB because Arthur Smith can’t develop them. But you were on the Kenny Pickett train. And you are against the Russell Wilson signing, even though he’s a veteran SB winning QB that doesn’t need developed.

Your Tomlin point is also stupid (shocker). He had Ben his entire HC career except for the past 2 years. Why the frick would they need to develop a young QB for 95% of that span?

I’m guessing they view him as a young talent that has shown flashes but hasn’t been able to be consistent. He’s a year younger than Kenny and isn’t a pussy that runs from competition.

Worst case he is a serviceable backup. He’s better than every QB they had on their roster last season.

A little off topic, but Leighgton Vander Esch has announced his retirement. He had a fantastic rookie season, then injuries derailed his career.

I think it was a chronic neck issue that was his biggest problem. The evolution of the NFL has diminished the role of the big, physical, run and hit linebacker.

However, it’s also a physical position that takes its toll, and teams are often unwilling to spend a lot of capital on the position.

PFF would have to be immensely incompetent and/or biased if Jones is better Fields.

Mac jones was last ranked dead last in the NFL QB power after his final start and Fields was 20th.

Last season Fields had a superior in nearly every metric besides sacks and completion percentage, the latter of which was comparable.

Fields is also a lot more mobile.

Plus, Jones is a dirty player!

Again, Fields was in a much better situation than Jones was last year. Fields is a trash can at passing the football. Great athlete though.

I just listened to a PFF draft guy on 810 WHB talk about an offensive lineman from Georgia who, in his exact words, "carries 340 pounds better than any player I have ever seen." He then went on to talk about how the guy doesn't have many reps because he was hurt a lot. If you are hurt a lot chances are you aren't carrying those 340 pounds all that well. So your quoted premise is easily possible.

Yeah they view everything in a biased vacuum. A lot of their metrics are great (when they are accurate. When it comes time for them to put them into perspective they go all in on their preconceived narratives. They’ll excuse big holes or flaws in some players’ performances and then nitpick the hell out of superior players performances over something trivial like well, yeah Patrick Mahomes is great but he was only 8th in the league in completion % on passes outside of the numbers between 15-20 yards down the field but Russell Wilson went a perfect 8 for 8 on checkdowns under 5 yards from the LOS so he had the better game this week.
