This actually bothers you?

Why?

No reason to project onto me. It bothers me little, unless the game gets delayed.

1) The league(owners) certainly doesn't like it

2) it's caused a few delays in the game by bending the posts

It's a small ancillary benefit to them.

Yall got so worked up over my post.

Do ya'll remember when they used to kick field goals off the black tee?

As far as I can remember NFL was on the ground and the lower levels did it off a tee. What year did the NFL remove the tee? For curiosity sake.

A modest proposal:

1) Keep EP distance the same

2) Put a top crossbar on the goalposts

3) For the full points on a FG (3) or EP (1), the ball has to go through the rectangle

4) If you hit any of the bars on a FG, but the ball does not go through, you get 1 point (none for EP)

5) Outside the box, no hitting the bars = no points

You may be right. Maybe I'm just thinking about college ball that used a tee.

EDIT: You're exactly right. The tee was never allowed in the NFL. I'm wrong, sorry. Carry on.

QB's are throwing for more yards than ever before, maybe they should change the size of the ball!

This is stupid

This. Every fricking season it's something new. I don't even know the fricking rules anymore.

maybe they should let the defenders play defense past the 5 yard point and quit letting the wr push off to create separation.

I like the idea of the extra point to be from the 25. It has become way too easy and it would add some excitement to the game making the EP no longer automatic.

I would like to encourage more returns after field goals like the ending of the Alabama/Auburn game. I would allow a return on made field goals since they use a net I would allow a made field goal to be returned if it does not hit the ground after hitting the net and falling down. Allow a defensive back the opportunity to catch ball as it returns down the net and give him the option of returning it and allow him to catch the ball if it makes it over the crossbar.
