Don't think that they are blacklisted, but there is really no motivation for them to put a team there. Having the second largest media market blacked out for eight games a season doesn't help with the TV negotiations, in addition to the leverage that they would sacrifice by having a team there.

Oregon's economy is way too shitty right now for it to be viable for any new franchises let alone one that would need a brand new stadium.

Also, I'm sure the Seahawks would do everything possible to block it since Portland is basically an extension of their fanbase

not everywhere has the one of the highest unemployment rates in the country

especially one that is so close to another NFL city

I just couldn't see the NFL doing well in Portland. MLS and NBA are perfect at this point

I know people are being creative, but go ahead and come up with several teams and do a realignment. Realistically we are locked at 32 teams. I think it would be awesome to have a team in Vegas.

Birmingham is an interesting choice... I think it could work well. Doubtful the NFL would ever consider giving them a franchise considering the size, though.

Toronto since Goodell is trying to expand the NFL into foreign markets. Portland would be good and since Nike is headquartered up there the team would probably get a lot of money just from that. Oklahoma City is interesting. The Big12 area if football crazy but doesn't have a lot of NFL teams in the area

No Red Black and White. We already have to many Red teams and the Falcons are Red Black and White.

How about a team with some Grey or Silver with Green?

Good point.

I say add one team to each conference.

Every team plays a round robin schedule in their conference. The top six teams from each conference make the playoffs, with the top two seeds in each getting a first round bye, as it is now.

Seeds 3-6 of each conference would go like this:

1) AFC 3 hosts NFC 6
2) NFC 3 hosts AFC 6
3) A4 hosts N5
4) N4 hosts A5

5) Winner of game 1 travels to NFC 2
6) Winner of game 2 travels to AFC 2
7) Winner of game 3 travels to NFC 1
8) Winner of game 4 travels to AFC 1

Winner of game 5 travels to winner of game 8
Winner of game 6 travels to winner of game 7

Birmingham is bigger than GB and near the size of NOLA & Jacksonville.

Thinking outside the box... Mexico City. Huge fanbase, breaks into the foreign makret, and it would probably sell incredibly well outside of the market.

Green and red. Or go with the established Chivas brand and tie it into soccer fans.

As Jacksonville's epic fail has shown us, putting an expansion team in a place that if college football crazy does not necessarily mean that they would go to a pro game.

Los Angeles. Southern California supports two baseball, two basketball, and two hockey teams. It is a great sports market. The Rams and Raiders had fan support. Al Davis and Georgia Frontierre just made money grabs.

A new stadium seating 70,000 with luxury boxes and club seats would be a goldmine.

I'd call the team the Los Angeles Tigers or Cougars or Panthers or something and have red, green, and brown, as team colors which are colors on the State Flag.

Yeah, Mexico City and Toronto (though that might take fans from the Bills) would be cool additions.

Los Angeles is easily one of the worst, if not THE worst sports town in America.

But your post is one reason that the league will NOT put a team there. They can always spout of irrelavent stuff like what you said and threaten to move there if they don't get a publicly funded stadium.

Add a team in Vancouver and Toronto to have some new Canadian teams. They will be close to other franchises, but who really cares.

Besides LA, San Antonio is the biggest city in terms of pop. that doesn't have a football team.

then
San Jose
Austin
Columbus
Fort Worth
Memphis
El Paso
Milwaukee
Las Vegas
Portland
Louisville

San Antonio could have a tan in their colors based off the Alamo...
