Have a question for everyone and would like all of your opinions.

Hypothetically, if you were awarded a new NFL franchise:

1. What city (other than New Orleans) would you locate this new team?
2. What name would you have for this new team?
3. What colors would you assign to this franchise?

I am doing a report in a Sociology class and we were discussing how sports bring together a variety of people. (ethinic/economical/religious backgrounds)

With this information, what city (large or small market) in the USA is most in need of the above "new" franchise?

Thanks in advance for the responses....

Las Vegas Outlaws - Red, black & white

Think about how much ppl would travel for away games to Vegas. I think it would make up for the lack of home crowd ( if there was a lack )

I know it may be out there but I'll go with Birmingham.

1.) Metro area over 1mil
2. Football crazy state
3.) Government that is probably willing to fund a stadium(recession or not)
4. Decent number of Fortune ranked companies

People in that state would come from miles.
THe colors would be purple and silver or green.

I dont know what the mascot would be.

1) Portland, Oregon
2) Something beer related, maybe Brewers or something similar to pay homage to the microbrewing culture of Oregon.
3) Ocean Blue, Breaker Blue, and white--just like the old Breakers of the USFL.

I could also see them using a music related name for the Portland franchise.

Also, I don't think that any legitimate pro sports league will ever base a team in Vegas.

I would put it in San Antonio. HUGE city with no team.

L.A. has had its chance with multiple teams, and they keep failing. I wouldn't trust that city, no matter how big it is.

No idea what I would name the team.

Also, the owners lose their leverage if LA has a team...

San Antonio would be interesting.

So do you think LA has officially been "blacklisted" when it comes to a potential expansion?

I personally don't think they deserve another one...they had 2 and couldn't keep either one happy!

I wouldnt want another team in New Orleans but I really loved the colors and mascot of the Arena team "Voodoo"

Maybe an island team could use it. Jamaica?
