I hope they can start building soon so that the Raiders are in Vegas by 2020. That will be one hell of a Saints road trip.

I know this will make it harder for NOLA to get Super Bowls, but I don't care because road trips to Vegas will be .

I'm a Raider fan from Oakland to L.A. back to Oakland.

But this is still "fleecing of America."

I don't know the details but if it approaches the Baron Robbers of the 90's and all their stadium deals...that bankrupted communities and cities with taxes for a goddamn football team...

Count me out.

I hope they just fricking tax tourists and the idiots who want to waste money in Vegas.

Vegas actually has real people who live there and don't give a shite about this stuff but property taxes and income taxes...

How about gambling taxes...make it all that...foreigners and stupid Americans looking to make a quick buck will fund the Raiders....

All gambling taxes.

At least Oakland citizens didn't have to pay for a new stadium of which they couldn't afford because...jeez, Oakland citizens aren't a professional football team with revenue sharing!!!!!!!!!!

Welp Oakland hasnt wanted to pay for shite for decades for their teams and this all but guarantees the Raiders be gone

You dont pass up moving to the most expensive state of the art stadium of all time with big time backing to stay in the O. co Coliseum

That is where almost a billion dollars of the cost is coming from

normally I'd agree with you, but Oakland's stadium is a dump

All of the Oakland stadiums are a dump. That city doesn't deserve the A's, either. Move them to cities that would support the teams.

The hotel tax is paying for their portion of the stadium.

It'll be 14.28% after this.

On an average $109 room, the increased room tax would add an extra 96 cents. That would generate $147,360 dollars a night for the stadium. If those tourists stay three nights, that number jumps to $442,080.

Oakland hasn't wanted to pay for any of its teams. sans the warriors catching lightning in a bottle. watching the rangers play in that dump is more depressing than the guaranteed nut punch in october

That's it.

Only thing left after that is the NFL owners vote for approval and they gone.

NFL vote is a guarantee to go in

They can posture all they want but theyve been through the legal battle of trying to tell the raiders where they can and cant move before and it didnt end well

And that will happen despite this article claiming a fight is looming.

Why? In case people have learned nothing from this past year with the LA vote, MONEY ALWAYS WINS OUT.

1) $750MM in free cash in LV.
2) Sexy market with billions changing hands every day.
3) Jerry Jones (money), Robert Kraft (money) say yes.
4) Oakland is contributing $0.
5) We saw Kroenke win out over two poor owners in the LA sweepstakes this past year.
6) Because of #5, Kroenke (money) would just assume have one less gnat to deal with. He doesn't really want a tenant team in his new fancy stadium or city. So that is at least 3 heavy wallet owners who say yes.

Things like gambling concerns, market support (financial and emotional), crime are all just NOISE. This is happening.

Capitalist NFL owners love them some socialism when it comes to stadiums.

I agree these deals are usually scams but it seems like Vegas could afford and make good use of a nice stadium.

I know there's a bowl game there, would it be moved to the new stadium? And will UNLV get to play there as well? I forget if they have something on campus or if they play in a city owned stadium.
