11-9 heading into the 4th. Boneheaded penalties by Duke, while Fowler chooses an interesting time to play his worst game in his career.

15-12 Duke wins to get to the championship. Kyle Turri did really well as the back-up goalie.

Now it's Notre Dame vs Maryland.

Damn, I was pulling for Denver. I thought Duke was going to lose when they kept getting those dumb penalties.

Oh well, this isn't Mike Pressler's Blue Devils. This program is legit...

Pressler built up the team. From a non-entity to a regular tournament qualifier in the 90s and the early 2000s, then after 2 down years, he assembled a very good 2002 recruiting class and then the 2003 class, which I would argue is the greatest class in the history of the sport. It was enough to basically give Duke the foundation for a decade of dominance.

With that being said, I think Danowski, who is a very friendly, relaxed, and open guy is significantly better to deal with a very successful team, massage egos of stars on the bench, and help with fundraising, rather than a guy like Pressler who was an angry guy even more the accusations.

Duke-ND in the final. Didn't see the ND game for long, but it looks like they were pretty damn dominant in this one. 11-6. Baloo is right. Maryland always goes down in the Final 4 or the championship.

Sevendust, are you a Loyola fan? I forgot.

This has been a great game. Hopefully, ND can complete the comeback.

It has been years since I've watched a lacrosse game. Looks like the Devils have a dynasty.

I couldn't bring myself to watch. Another year, another Final Four loss.

I was at one of the only airports without a restaurant or sports bar so I couldn't watch the second half, only the first when we were up 5-1.

Now I am sitting in an airplane experiencing a weather delay.

Thanks, Obama.

Very pleased to see Duke win back-to-back titles. This is the strongest team since the 2008 squad that lost to Hopkins in the semifinals. Looks like ND kept it close though.

Last 10 years: 9 final fours (almost guaranteed to have been 10 if not for Nifong), 5 championship games, 3 titles.

Next year is interesting. We have these guys coming in from Minnesota, South Carolina, Michigan, and San Diego (Seau's son). They are all supposed to be the best players to ever come out of their cities but who knows what that means.

If they are as good as their recruiting rankings indicate, the run may continue for a long time. If not, next year can be the toughest year for us since 2009.

One of the guys said Maryland hadn't own since 1977 on the broadcast. Is that right? So strange since they are almost always a legit top 3-8 team. You'd think one of the years they could win. Amato was a stud. We can't get 50 percent save percentages on goalies since 08

Incorrect. Maryland hasn't won a title since 1975.

Since then, Maryland has made 17 Final Fours and been the runner up SEVEN times. The Terps have also made every field since 2003, the longest consecutive streak in the country. They've been to six Final Fours in the past 12 years.

It's hard to get upset anymore, as my hopes have been effectively crushed. Throw in Caps hockey every spring and the month of May is pretty much my sports Kryptonite. I just know bad shite is about to happen.

Wow. It's hard to think of any other team being so good for so long without a title in any other sport.

The Braves are the only team I can think of but they at least got one title. I guess the Lakers from 1958 to 1971 during the Celtics dynasty is the closest comparison.

The one thing that makes it easy to swallow is that very rarely have the Terps been the favorite to win the whole thing. I think they've been the #1 seed only once or twice in that whole span. It's the curse of always being very good, but never great. How many times has there been a legit choke? Not this year, honestly. The Terps usually lose because they aren't as good as the title winner.

If ND can't win it all next year, I don't know if we ever will. Our top NINE scorers return. All three poles that started today return. Kelly returns in net.

Brenneman's a pretty good defensive short-stick middie we lose. Also a few depth offensive players. But really the only "big" loss is O'Connor at the faceoff X. And when the most impactful guy you lose is a FOGO and you return so much on offense, all three defenders and your goalie from a national runner-up... I hate to say it, but I think anything short of a championship next year is a disappointment.
