Yep Gordon is a beast. If he was just a little better finisher he'd average 20 a night. Seems like he misses 1-2 makeable Shots at the rim each game. Anderson hasn't been great but he's still find his role I reckon. 42% from 3 tho he may have been on to something when he commented on how many more open looks he was getting.
I think Gordon is a good finisher. He makes many lay-ups that surprise me that he's able to make.

He's great at using his body to shield the defender from the ball and he is good at keeping the ball away from that defender when he finishes so that they cannot block it.

I feel like Gordon could take better shots, especially from 3.

most are/were bitter at the original contract. I was one of like 3 who were saying how good he can be when he's healthy, as the knee problems are past him IMHO.

Issue is there's always a freak injury he sustains as the season goes on, at one point a few years back he was our healthiest player.

and misses easy ones at the same time. issue is, he cannot buy a whistle to save his life. he finishes at like 50+% at the rim, even after the knee injuries...very solid

I might be wrong, but I think Gordon is one of the worst players in the league in finishing around the rim.

Gordon turned into a great three point shooter but his defense was really bad and he lost a lot of athleticism.

I think a lot of people soured on him because of his initial injury where he allegedly didn't work hard to get back.

He was also supposed to be a core player and by the end of his time in New Orleans he was a clear role player. He's a good player that most teams would like to have but he is probably best suited as a scorer off the bench

I can't imagine that's true.

I didn't know what to expect with his ability to finish around the rim, but I've been impressed.

tmrw looks like a loss.
Utah and Denver give the Rockets a blowout loss every season. Utah did it earlier this week. I expect Denver to do the same today.

4-1 road trip would be pretty sweet but I'm not expecting a W. either way to be 12-8 after these first 20 is a great start.

He was like that for the Pelicans, he was just hurt all the fricking time.

No one (seriously) bagged on him because he wasn't a good player. Everyone was just frustrated that he was able to suit up for only 52% of our games since he came over from LAC.

He looks pretty athletic to me this year.

Agreed, he's perfect for that role. Right now he's the 6th man of the year.

Capela - MIP
Harden - MVP
ARIZA - DPOY
D'antoni - COY

Gonna be a CC sweep come seasons end.

That was my biggest issue with Gordon was he was always hurt.

Also he would start off great in games and then disappear in the 2nd half.

He played some of his best basketball last season and playing off Harden has really improved his game.

Plus for some reason Gordon could not get a call in the paint when he was with the Pelicans. I the one game I watch Gordon with the Rockets he got more calls in the lane then his entire career with the Pelicans.

Best true shooting percentage of his career.
Are you talking about Eric Gordon?

He's had 4 seasons with a higher TS% than he has currently, including last season.

HIs top 3 were his 1st 3 seasons with LAC.

As it's been said a few times, his numbers are similar to last season. It's almost uncanny how much they resemble last season.

No doubt, especially with the first 16 or so being on the road?

14 of first 20 on the road. Two 5-game road trips.

I said going .500 would be a win. Finishing .650 or .600 at minimum is beyond what I expected.

To be fair, as of now, I could see all of those guys winning outside of Ariza. If he would have thrown Gordon in for 6MOY instead it would have made a lot more sense.

That post was my equivalent to the "pels can contend to make the playoffs" posts that have been popping up lately.

I would say Harden and D'Antoni would be the only two possible ones as the other two are for more popular names floating around IMHO:

Ariza has to compete with Kawhi, Jordan, Green, etc...not likely to happen just because its more of a popularity award than not.

Capela went from 7/6 to 12/8 which is a nice jump and he's going to be in the talk for it, but there are a few who have improved even more.
