Only really one competitive series going tonight with the 76ers visiting the Miami Heat. The Pelicans look to continue their dominance over the Blazers. A win tonight could really demoralize Dame & Co. Golden State looks to roll over San Antonio. This isn’t the dominant Spurs of old.

76ers at Heat 6:00pm ct series even at 1-1
Blazers at Pelicans 8:00pm ct NOP up 2-0
Warriors at Spurs 8:30pm ct GSW up 2-0

I have brought this book up a few times but The captain class is really interest theory on what makes the greatest teams tick.

His theory is that the greatest teams of all time have a captain that holds everything together.

The reason i bring it up was that The Duncan spurs were one of the teams that met his criteria to be considered one of the 16 greatest teams of all time. It’s interesting because if you buy into what the author is saying, the window closing on the spurs was bound to happen after Duncan left.

Anyway, I can’t recommend the book enough if you are a sports fan or in mgmt, it is a every interesting look into some very unique individuals. The stories about the All-blacks are awesome

Pels v Blazers have been some pretty good games despite the 2-0 lead.

Definitely not. Spurs are hurting right now, in more ways than one.

Interviews at practice today tore me up a bit LINK. Methinks it'll be an inspired effort from the Silver and Black this evening, but it won't be enough. Just not enough firepower.

Book has been on my must-read list for awhile

Solid theory RE: captain class. I actually think Pop himself was more vital to the Spurs' dominance than Duncan (barely), but it's not without a little merit. Honestly, though, I feel like circumstances beyond Duncan's retirement are what ended the dominance. Spurs made the WCF the year after he left, then things went to shite with Kawhi's weird injuries, and Pop hasn't quite been himself as this year wore on (for obvious non-Duncan reasons). I guess you could make the case that Timmy would have been the steadying presence that would have stabilized things throughout the tumultuousness, but that might be stretching it a bit. Still interesting to think about, regardless.

Pelicans are going to be feeling the pressure of performing in front of their home fans and are going to lay an egg.

Probably the biggest game of the series for the Pelicans: obviously gotta maintain home court, but we cannot allow them back in this series with them down 0-2 like you said, the Blazers will submit their best effort possible tonight to achieve 2-1 so we have to counter effectively and play with urgency throughout. Should be a compelling game.

They just beat Portland on the road again with AD not scoring a fg in the last 16 minutes. They're going to roll them tonight.

there isnt much available, but there are still technically 2 seats available directly from the arena. they are 2 seats short of a sellout

Don’t really need AD when Mirotic and Jrue are rolling though.

That 3 by Mirotic with a minute or two left that dropped from the heavens was a beauty to watch even with my Portland homer glasses.
