ESPN has been trolling NFL players for the last 24 hours.

I mean their are less players in the NBA. Still though, with how much revenue and profit the NFL brings it, NFL players are clearly underpaid.

There is more risk of injury and shorter career/athletic prime span for NFL players

and considering the fact NFL players get their brains bashed in and many suffer from debilitating things after their career, NFL players are severely underpaid

The NBA is a FARCE..... The NFL is getting that way... Both sports are on the downslide....

IMO Football players should be paid more... NBA players are PUSSIES............

No they aren't.

You are worth what the market will pay you. They make what they make because that's what the team thinks they are worth.

No such thing as overpaid or underpaid.

Not to mention there are 50+ NFL players on an NFL roster and they only play 16 games.

There are 10-12 on an NBA roster and they play 70+ games.

Physical exertion isn't a marker for salary.

I don't get why this is such a big deal.

1. Theres way less players in NBA and way harder to make it to
2. NBA's marketing and appeal is entirely built around players while NFL is about the teams
3. 75% of NFL players are replaceable and can easily be replaced without a casual fan even noticing. Next man up is what the NFL is all about.
4. The supply of pro quality football players is way bigger than the demand.

The market would pay them more, but there's a salary cap lol you act like its a free market like baseball with no cap

Agree. The people that are mad and freaking out about it either don't understand basic math, or just don't care to look into it so they can keep complaining

They are spending the money the agreed to spend in the CBA.... Sure, certain players may not be worth what they're getting, but that's life I'm the NBA these days.

And it's not gonna get "worse", the NBA will be pulling in more money so the players will get more money. It's really not that big of a deal.

ETA: everyone who watches the NBA on TV is the reason they are making so much money now

Never change, Dukke. What would the More Sports Board be without its own redneck, racist, trailer trash wannabe hardass? A lot more boring, I say.

there is a salary cap in both leagues so no one gets paid what they are worth

You seem to think that the NFL is a free market, but you are sorely mistaken. They make what teams think they're worth under a cap limited market. The NBA players are smarter and have a better union. Their willingness to strike is why they make more. Go look at total salaries vs. total revenue for both leagues. NFL players are getting fricked hard and deep. The owners are raking in money for no reason other than already having money while the players beat each other to early death and disability.
