While I think it is the right decision, a team does not deserve to be champions if the scheduling of the games is what "cost" them the series.

It's been 2-3-2 for a long time, so the media only has to travel twice during the series, but it's the 21st century. It's not that hard.

It's the best format. Game 5 should always go to the team with HC advantage to start.

Why? If Game 5 had been in Miami, the Heat might have been up 3-2 instead of down 3-2.

Not really. They already showed in Game 1 that they could go to Miami and win.

If they win a Game 5 in Miami, I'd say they probably win the NBA Finals in Game 6.

All hypothetical of course.

Right. Hence why I said "might." But the fact remains that the 2-2-1-1-1 would have helped Miami more than SA in the Finals. Having Game 5 in SA was a pretty nice advantage.

2-2-1-1-1 is far better.

Ray Allen saved his arse as he choked in the final minute of game 6

Much respect to LeBron but he almost blew that series

Yep, and that format change was all about 1980's Celtics-Lakers travel. Yet they kept it for almost three decades.
